UPDATE#4: June 16, 2021. Down Ÿ â. Took quite a while for two ladies (see pic) working together to ring people up. Variety is okay but as before prices are kind of high and you never really see a lot of people in there except on this day. Why are they still in business? Oh, that's right...no competition. Back to Houston & Austin H Marts with way better prices and variety.
UPDATE#3: Oct 10, 2018. First time back since June 2013. Overall 3.75đs. Some nice changes! Expanded store inventory with more sq ft. Bulk items aplenty to run a business. Prices okay on some items and expensive on others. Same as all Asian grocers. Need more selection of fresh fish and vegetables. Store layout about the same. Recommended. Buy in bulk to justify a trip to Houston H Mart every 2-3 months.
UPDATE#2: Good variety and close to home. Expensive. Willing to look elsewhere. Forgettable experience. Try Houston H Mart or Austin MT Supermarket for all your asian (Filipino) food needs. Better pricing, bigger inventory, fresh fish, and much greater variety. Yes.. gas (Prius
Read moreI should have paid attention to all the positive reviews were written by other nationalities but not from Asians and most of the negative reviews are from the Asians, and indeed this is an Asian/oriental market. Because we donât want to drive all the way to Wincrest, to the Asia Supermarket in that area, which is way better than Timâs, we stopped by Tim hoping to pick up some basic things. Fried tofu didnât have a date on the package and there was mold on it. We didnât waste time to ask for a refund because we already hate the customer service they offer. The non-Asian workers at the BBQ and the seafood sections are actually more friendly and offer a much better customer service quality than the Asian cashiers (I assume these are the owners/relatives). Whenever you need to ask them a question they act like you are in there asking for free food!! Wonât come back here unless Iâm lazy to drive all the way...

The store has expanded and is revamping and I must say I was very impressed with the freshness of their produce, fish market, expanded selection, etc. Love it! Their store is great overall for a variety of Asian cooking needs, especially considering that Asian cuisine is not the primary focus for many consumers in south TX. Their selection of noodles, sauces, vinegars, spices, produce and specialty items is quite nice and reasonably priced. You will find a better selection and pricing at Tim's than you will in the supermarkets' ethnic aisles. I am often surprised when they ring up my total at how much I can buy for twenty or thirty bucks. Additionally, their staff is very friendly and helpful. This store has enabled me to find the ingredients to cook foods that I love. Tim's is the best in the area and one of the best Asian markets I've been...
