We used to come here for homeschool skate days, we haven’t been in many years. We had a party and it was odd to say the least. The desk attendant repeatedly kept asking how many kids we had, 6/10 and our adults. The other skate attendant was trying to get the kids in and their shoes etc but the lady kept yelling at her that we couldn’t go in. By this point we had paid a 50 deposit and around 166 or so more for this party. They would not let us take our cake inside. Their disclaimer is that you get there an hour before table time but if you do that, you have nowhere to put your decor and gifts etc. i was told not to bring decor, but several other parties did. Once the kids finally got the correct skates, and found the push carts it was time for the table. We supposedly had an attendant but we saw her once for drink pitchers and that was it. The kids were able to skate a small amount. Per the website, we did not receive party invitations. We did not receive 10 ice cream cups. The kids were very upset to not have ice cream with their cake. We had no attendant to rectify the situation. We were told we needed to hurry so they could charge us our leftover bill. We had to pay for any adult who didn’t skate and were asked to leave a tip. We had to rush eating cake, and gifts. By that time there wasn’t much time to skate, and nowhere to put our items. From my times at a competing skate rink many many years ago, skate connection, skate parties were actually fun. The dj shouted you out, they did special dances, you got to ride in a big skate and had awesome attendants. I believe this rink signs on too many parties at once and staff is spread thin and they let too many people in. For as much as we were charged for the party and for skating and non skating adults I felt the amenities and property should have been in better condition but it looked like 1989 in there. You also used to be able to choose ice skating or roller skating at birthday parties here but now they make you select one for the party.
Overall if this too long to read I suggest Knowing your attendants name Getting there at your table time to do food, ice cream and cake. If they deem you worthy of ice cream as we were not deemed worthy. You can then take gifts to the car and let kids skate as long as they want.
The property def needs some updating. Especially the...
Read moreOverall, not a place I really enjoy going to. The staff are like flipping a coin, they are either the nicest people you will ever encounter or just straight up rude to you. The place itself is quite outdated and needs remodeling. The bathrooms are horrible and look like they haven't been cleaned in months-years (especially the one in the ice rink). Most of the time they smell like someones rolled a blunt in there or something. The ice skates aren't taken care of at all and easily make ice skating not enjoyable. Workers will literally hand you broken skates with no sort of warning. The roller rink isn't any better, every 3 minutes you can hear this one worker/manager yelling into the microphone telling people constantly: "if you're on the wall, keep moving." or you can hear him just going ON and ON. it genuinley ruins the experience for not me, but many other people too. like, there's people here that have no experience with skating and he gets onto everybody for not being able to move. The roller rink is always crowded unless your there as soon as it opens, and they play music that nobody has listened to in 2-3 years. The same guy that yells into the microphone every 3 minutes threatened to kick me and my boyfriend out for simply sitting on the ice rink stands? We weren't guilty of PDA or anything, there was no physical contact other than our shoulders touching. We weren't near the back either.
This place can be fun, but it's so hard to find the good in it while there's someone either running you over, giving you broken skates, or being rude to you for no reason. Although I don't plan to stop going to this place for the sole reason of my friends being experienced skaters, I definitely have not being going nearly as much as I used too because the experience has fastly died out for me. Not to mention, this place is kinda overpriced. I mean, 20$(On Saturdays) just to skate in a broken down building with some skates that haven't been renewed since God knows when? come on, man. Although I will admit, this place does have some amazing workers, but only a few. Probably one of the only reasons I...
Read moreOur family of 8 really enjoyed. Kids of all ages. 7 youngest -60 oldest. We skated on Sat and stayed until 630. They pull the skate aides at 7 pm on Saturdays. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. They don't allow Marijuana not even the smell on you. They say freshen up before you come inside. Music was to everyone. Not just a certain genre played. The ice skate side was a completely different atmosphere, though. Was calm and more relaxing. Suggest warmer clothes if you're on the ice side. We did both combo tickets, so we had on more of the cooler clothes. But the fire was a nice touch. However the cleanliness of the ice skating side was rough. I know they have the matched puzzle piece floors but the bathrooms could use new pieces. Smelled like urine and mold/mildew. Prices were good. I was just a specter and paid 5$ will say they tried to charge me 2x on my tickets In and on my drinks purchased in concession stand. So check your online account and see if it says approved when you pull out card. I will say they were quick to refund one of my 146$ charges since they could see it was charged 2x. Will add if you go wear thicker socks. Kids got blisters from the skate rentals. Thank you from the Tucker family. Kids are already trying to take a...
