There are a lot of things wrong with this gym.. I signed up for a 3 guest pass and was prompted to sign up upon walking in. I've never had to sign up to use a guest membership at any gym. They take your info down and hope you don't contact them within the 3 days to charge you. I called the night prior to them charging the membership fees and was told I had to come before 5pm. You're telling me I can sign up after 5pm but you can't cancel before 5pm? Probably because their managers are in and they want to "close" deals. Predatory sales tactics at a gym is just ridiculous. They run their sales team like it's a car dealership. Fast forward to my guest pass expiring, I had locked my card to prevent the $180 membership charge. I called to see if I can remove the -$180 balance on my "membership". My sales rep told me I can be refunded that amount within 3 days of the charge. Upon calling, the person on the phone stated it would automatically cancelled and to cancel my card to prevent further charges. I wanted to make sure that balance was gone since I wanted to cancel. I stated I just wanted to be sure I would not go to collection and for my "balance" to be $0. It was difficult to be assured because every time she finished her statements with "I guess". so NOW I have to go through and cancel a card because it cannot be removed? The card would be charged every so often for the $180 that never went through? If I was informed that I would be refunded $180 if I were charged and cancelled why wouldn't my balance be 0? The girl on the phone couldn't figure this math out and she placed me on a hold. She never made it back to the phone and disconnected. Hopefully using the time to calculate the math. Let me break it down, if $180 membership fee did not charge my card = balance of $180 with LA Fitness with recurring payments attempting to collect; if $180 membership charges my card and I request a refund = Balance of $0 on my LA Fitness and its cancelled an no attempts to collect. Now for the gym itself. This was probably the dirtiest gym in the area. I have been to a lot of the gyms in the area. Strong & Shapely, Retro Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, Golds Gym, Quest Fitness, and Planet Fitness. (all never made me sign up upon using a guest pass). This gym is just over populated since basically anyone can bring a guest pass. The equipment is so dangerously close to each other. You literally can't walk past certain areas due to someone working out right in the middle of the path! I can't blame the members just because the equipment is poorly placed. The cables machines by the big window, I'm referring to in this case. No one wipes down their equipment, barbells/plates are scattered everywhere, it smells like trash in there, piss all over the toilet seats. Overall, horrible experience at this gym. I recommend their Clifton location, but their Lodi one is a piece of work. This gym stinks...

Read moreI have been coming here for 6 months. I Have been giving this place a chance but honestly i dont think standards are up to par with what they charge monthly. They have different options at signing up so you either pay $35-$50 a month plus yearly fees and sign up fees. For that prices i expect simple things like paper and disinfectant to be accessible. I cannot even count the amount of times i have come to this gym at different times of the day and find that all disinfectant dispensers are completely empty. They provide disinfectant liquid so that we can clean the machines ourselves, its not like the gym is in charge of cleaning machines after each use. So how am i supposed to clean a filthy machine that someone just sweat on with empty disinfectant dispensers?…. I am very upset about not being able to work out because the machines are dirty and i cant clean them because they dont bother refilling anything. Im sorry but to be paying $35-$50 monthly this doesn't seem right. I also want to add that all their front desk staff are teenagers maybe in their 16-18 age range that can never resolve anything. All they do is say they will tell a manager and never do anything about anything. They dont even greet you or acknowledge you upon arriving. Its like anyone can just walk in without signing in because the teenage staff is too busy on their cellphones. I have also noticed equipment going weeks even 2 months without being fixed or replaced. Again for a gym of this standard i expect at least the basics. I would kind of understand this type of bad service at a gym of a lower standard that people only pay $10-$20 monthly but this place is double the price and not even keeping up with disinfectant dispensers which with covid should be the very minimum they could do. I am writing this review based on my experience on the past 6 months that i have been coming and analyzing it.
Today was the worse of all because i went to the front desk to ask for them to please refill the disinfectant or to please provide me with some and she hands me a bottle that even looked different in color and when i went to the machine to clean it, i realized i had gotten pure bleach all over my hands, clothes and machine. How does the front desk staff think its okay to hand me pure bleach and not even tell me. I quickly went downstairs again and told the front desk girl that she handed me pure bleach and she said sorry and brushed it off and still did nothing to resolve. She even directed me to sales rep instead of simply handling the situation which was simply providing the proper disinfectant for the gym...
