DO NOT COME HERE! I have taken my truck in here a couple times and both experiences have been sub par. The first time was two years ago. I needed 4 new 35" tires. I bought them here which was the only fine part of the experience. After the tires were put on I all the sudden needed new brakes and control rods. I trusted the "experts" and had them replace the needed parts. When I went to pick my truck up late that night after the work was done my tires were leaning heavily to the inside of the truck. They also forgot to attach one of the tires completely and securely. I ended up returning the truck the truck to the shop 2 times to get the work done completely. Whatever, sometimes things happen like this.
Fast forward two years later to yesterday. Time come for a tire rotation so I returned to use the tire rotation service that came with my tires. It took forever!!!! Almost two hours for them to rotate the tires and repair a nail hole in one tire. This was from the time they pulled the truck into the shop. After all of that they took me back to show me the tire wiggling back and forth and told me I needed new ball joints! Funny thing is they were the guys that two years earlier had replaced them already. I barely drive the truck, less than 20000 miles in 3 years. The ball joints should be good still. They weren't too happy to find out that they were the original installer of the ball joints/control arms. Turns out that they say my warranty was only good for 12 months on the control arms. Okay, I understand that, I get it. They wanted to replace my ball joints still. NOPE!
I refused to allow any further work on my truck from this company. I took it to another mechanic today and had the ball joints checked. Guess what? They are in perfect condition. Surprised? I'm not one bit. Again, don't come here!!! They'll just try to up sale you on parts you don't...
Read moreHad an absolutely horrible experience with this shop. About 2 weeks ago (June 3), I took my vehicle in to have the wrong brake pads and rotors replaced. The process took over 2 hours. This long wait time was due to several factors. First they didn't have a tool to remove the bolts and told me they were going to try drilling out the bolts. Then they got the wrong size rotors... TWICE!!! After they put the wheels back on and told me it was good to go there were greasy foot prints on my light grey floor mats and the brakes were dangerously soft when the pedal was pressed. They took it back in an bled the air from the brake lines.
Over the last few days my family have been commenting about how the brakes are making noise (metallic squeal). I planned to take it in to have it looked at later this week on my day off work (planning on another multi-hour fiasco).
However, today, the low brake fluid light/ alert came on in the vehicle!! This is UNACCEPTABLE for a professional shop. They will be seeing me again soon, but it isn't going to be because I am happy customer.
Update: took our vehicle to another shop for an unrelated item and the mechanic told me that there was brake fluid leaking from the front caliper. Evidently Les Schwab left a fitting loose causing the loss of brake fluid. The shop corrected the problem, topped off the fluid at no charge. They will get my business from now on. Will never return to Les Schwab and allow them to do subpar work on my vehicles again.
Edit: No, Joe. Your generic, copy/paste response will not convince me to bring your shop another...
Read moreIt's okay. Nice place to sit and they had "free" popcorn.
I've used Les swabs in Ogden, Roy and Brigham City. This particular one is the most quirky out of the lot. I don't know why. I just always seem to have odd experiences going to this one.
I needed some tires rotated. In the past I've had the experience of getting free rotations at these other centers. Granted I never asked if it was on the house or just a service that was provided.
When I went today they asked me if I had Les Schwab tires on the car. I told them I couldn't recall. They told me it would be an hour to rotate. It was only 30 minutes so that was nice.
After the service was provided they told me that the tires were not Les Schwab tires and they would have to charge me for the service. They told me as my consolation prize that they had balanced the tires free of charge. $29 for the rotation.
I paid it because they did the job. I wish that they had looked to see if the tires qualified for free rotation or told me the price for the service before performing it.
Kind of felt like they placed me in a rock and hard place by doing the service and charging me without telling me what they were going to charge.
I could have asked them before they started but I'm used to receiving a quote for service before purchase.
I'll probably be looking at another tire center in the future for a comparable service, or a combination of tires and oil.
Big O does oil changes in combination with their tire rotation to provide a better value deal. Discount tires is a couple of blocks down...
