If you're looking for a good hotel, look elsewhere! If you're looking for a hotel to get rest at, look elsewhere! If you're looking for a hotel with staff that is friendly and kind, look elsewhere! If you're looking for a clean hotel that you don't feel the need to clean before you use, look elsewhere!
I've been traveling for work for a long time now, I work nights and that entails me sleeping during the daytime hours. I've been to many many different hotels including other La Quinta Inn & Suites. THIS visit however couldn't have been more awful.
Checked into my room on Sunday and was staying 7 days so checking out on the following Sunday. As per my usual routine I stayed up all night Sunday night to get back on a working sleep schedule by sleeping Monday morning-afternoon. What I was woken up by was housekeepers in the hallway, not by them doing their job because that I expect and understand. But what I was woken up by was them yelling at each other from one end of the hallway to the other. Spanish music blaring from phones as they worked and just a lack of respect for the guests they're housing. I stepped out of my room half asleep and asked them to keep the noise down by not yelling at each other, that's the content of my discussion with them. No rude words, no yelling or anything that would cause them to feel the need to call someone from the front upstairs.
I place a note on my door reminding staff they have guests sleeping during the day for nighttime work and to please keep the noise down. The next time I'm woken up was by what I know now to be the general manager Oscar... He came off the elevator and noticed my note and yelled "Keep up the noise" this obviously was very frustrating. I gather myself again and go to the door and whilst almost falling to make it there I hit the door and opened it at the same time.
The first words out of this man's mouth wasn't an apology for the noise but him informing me he could refund my money and I could find somewhere else to stay. How unprofessional and disrespectful could one person be to a guest! This is not the first time I've had to ask housekeepers to keep the noise down around my room as I travel a lot and to many different states, but this IS the first time I've been responded to in such a rude and inappropriate manner. I'm a very kind person who gives respect to everyone I meet and this situation, as frustrating as it was, was no exception.
The last few days of my stay here haven't been any better since they had a baseball team from California staying here. They also have no regard for others and the hotel couldn't have cared less that it was 3am and they were yelling and running the hallways like children. I only knew this because I come back to the room for my lunch break...
My room, while it looks okay upon first arrival was definitely not cleaned appropriately and I absolutely cleaned everything before I used anything. The floor looked like it hadn't been swept since the last guests left and the carpet not vacuumed thoroughly. Lipstick on the side of the doorframe and hair that's not mine in the bedcovers. I placed a blanket over their linens for the length of my stay. The refrigerator was so frozen over I had to actually thaw it out overnight just to be able to fit anything in it. 🤦🏼♀️
I STATE AGAIN!!!
The only exceptions with the staff was Ashlee serving breakfast, he was phenomenal. Sweet and kind and everything was always hot. I applaud him for his exceptional attitude and for taking some pride In his job with the public. He was absolutely a breathe of fresh air considering the rest of my...
Read moreI am usually not negative-but hopefully LaQuinta in Logan Management will get feedback and deal with some issues, and potential guests will avoid this hotel until everything is resolved. Arrival was ok, front desk clerk seemed a bit weak in her training, but it all worked out ok. Got to the room and it smelled funny, but was adequately clean other than a big red stain on the carpet. I tried to sleep on the King bed, but it hurt my back so badly I opened the hide-a-bed and slept on it. It was actually more comfortable there than on the “real bed”-and that isn’t saying much. This hotel needs new beds, period. I left the room the next day-the maid was in the room right next to mine-so I took the “we’re not cleaning your room” sign they had put on my door (because I had my “do not disturb sign” on the door) and gave it to the front desk, asking her to make sure we have at least fresh towels and shampoo, telling the front desk clerk that “the maid was currently next door”. The front desk attendant told me she would tell the maid. I sat at their breakfast seating area waiting for my ride, which gave me a view of the front desk. I observed the front desk attendant talk on her cell phone, sit on the front counter, text at the counter, and also leave for extended amounts of time (even videoed her unprofessionalism-over the course of 2 days). After arriving back to my room that night, noting nothing had been done-not even fresh towels and shampoo as I had requested-I called the current front desk clerk who told me, after I explained what had transpired, that the previous clerk had “probably procrastinated” (even after I had told her the maid was nextdoor to my room?) and she asked me to come down for my requested items...not even really apologizing. I called her back after realizing I forgot to ask her for a “channel guide”, she replied saying she’d bring it right up. That never happened, so maybe she “procrastinated also”. Day 2: I made sure I was out of my room in good time and decided to check out the pool and patio area after stopping at the front desk (same clerk as the morning before) and I asked her to “please MAKE SURE my room got cleaned today, as it did not yesterday, even though I had asked her”. Noting the breakfast area where I had sat previously, and was planning on working there again, was still strewn with breakfast debris, I pointed it out to her to “possibly wipe it down, as it was still dirty” (it was now an hour and a half after breakfast has finished). Pool area: antiquated lock on the door that I had no idea what the code was to get in, a total of 3 towels on the shelves, the hot tub was hardly warm with one jet that only gently blew bubbles into water that had not been cleaned, balloon pieces and other floatsum present. Went back to the breakfast area to work, remembering there was a dispenser there with iced water, grabbed a cup only to see an empty vessel-and a not very clean one to boot. (Heavy sigh). The only good things I can say about this hotel is they have a big parking lot and ports at the breakfast area for your devices. I dread tonight, trying to sleep on either of the beds in the room. In conclusion: AVOID LaQuinta in Logan until the owner or manager does their job and shapes up both staff and...
Read moreMy wife and I have been staying at a La Quinta since last Wednesday, August 12th. Our circumstances are somewhat unique in that we moved to Logan for new jobs and are staying in a hotel while we await construction to finish on our house. We have pets, and have stayed at a La Quinta before, so we felt comfortable staying here given that our options were limited. We also are staying here for an extended time, as we needed to be here to start our jobs, and we have two weeks until our home is ready for us to move in.
Thus far, our stay at La Quinta has been less than relaxing and instead has been pretty miserable.
Our stay here got off to a weird start as I was confronted by a staff person for "propping a door open" while I was unloading our car when we arrived. I had not propped the door open. When I let the staff person know that I had not propped the door open, they replied, "Well, okay, I'm just letting you know." I'm not sure why I was accused of doing this, but we have noticed there is a group staying here that will use rugs to prop the door open and go in and out to hang out and smoke in the parking lot. We've even observed them leaning against our cars while they smoke and hang out. Again, I am unsure why I was accused of this, and why the staff person did not say anything to the group that was quite clearly coming in and out of the hotel.
Since being here, the aforementioned group and others have been incredibly loud. We have heard music, running and loud footsteps, and even what sounded like vacuuming (or some other machinery) at all hours of the night. All of these things have occurred not only throughout the day, but even late at night. And last night, in a really strange and stressful turn of events, we had not one, but three different individuals knock on our door looking for someone or something. The knocking took place between 10:45pm and 6am and we were woken up all three times. I am not sure if the individuals were intoxicated, confused, lost, or something more nefarious, but it was certainly uncomfortable and inconvenient. In coping with the volume and random people knocking on our door, our stay has been loud and uncomfortable.
Lastly, the shower in our room does not have any markings left on it (it looks very old) and there is virtually no way to know how to adjust the temperature. The temperature of our shower has either been ice cold or boiling hot, and that is not a joke or exaggeration. We have elected not to report it, as we felt we could adjust for a few days before we switch rooms, but it has made our already uncomfortable stay less comfortable.
Our stay here thus far has been loud, weird, and uncomfortable. What is most unfortunate is that with pets and needing a long term stay so we can start our jobs, our options are limited. In the future, when we have more choices and options, and are not constrained due to circumstance, we will not be staying at La Quinta again. I will go so far as to not recommend La Quinta in Logan to others given what we have experienced thus far. I am hopeful the rest of our stay becomes somewhat...
