Planet Fitness — Local services in Logan

WARNING!! (( MUST READ IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS LOGAN BRANCH PLANET FITNESS! )) I’d like to start by letting you all know, planet fitness itself is not the issue. The MANAGER, and her team and this branch are however. I write this kindly for you all who are considering going here to protect those who ( like me ) cannot afford to have money stolen from them. My parter and I tried this gym in the middle of June. And had a fine experience, they had no problem charging our card and having us sign documents. We went to the gym a handful of times, but because of our young children and busy work schedules we couldn’t make it very often. So we decided to cancel in July. Well one of the team members said that she canceled our membership, but we still have to pay for a month because we canceled after the 10th of July. So we took that punch and dealt with it. Well fast forward to last Monday and my wife wakes up to an over-drafted account because of an annual fee. Immediately we knew that they made a mistake on their end. But we prayed that the customer service could help us because we are a small family on a tight budget. Well we called in and asked why we were charged even though we canceled. Well wouldn’t you know it the system showed that we in fact didn’t. We told them this is a mistake on their end, and asked for a manager. Tammy, is the manager at this branch. Tammy started off her “customer service” by telling my partner and I that her team is tenured and never makes mistakes, to which we didn’t know what to do because it is now our word against hers. So, after a short conversation on Friday with Tammy, she said all she is willing to do is refund the annual fee but we would have to come in and cancel first. So we went in on Friday to cancel, and wouldn’t you know it she was conveniently gone for the day. But we did what she asked, and we canceled. However we now had to wait until Monday to call her to have her do her end of the promise. Of course we both work full time so we didn’t have a chance to take care of this until today. So I call Tammy to ask her kindly to administer the refund, and could you believe this, she said the has no recollection of telling us she’d do that, and that they never refund the annual fee. At this point, I’m completely caught of guard, I’m not going to lie, this 85 year old lady had me pissed. My partner and I decided to go into the branch in hopes to plead for her to remember her end of the last conversation we had. And you know what she did? She went and grabbed two kind members of the gym, that happened to be law enforcement officers and made sure to have my partner and I trespassed. The officers were very kind, we respected them and left. I’ll have you know my partner and I are kind loving people, and this is the worst I’ve ever been treated by someone in my life. With our hands crossed. We called corporate planet fitness and spoke with the regional manager, and we’re lucky enough to be taken care of. Apparently, Tammy is well known for causing issues like this for her members. She is getting old, and she is not kind, or fit to handle the requirements of her. To all who are considering this gym, you can avoid all of this by making sure for hand written copies the day that you cancel! This Planet Fitness location is a joke. The manager here is disgusting and a thief. I got behind on a payment towards the end of February because I switched jobs so my bank account was a little bit in the negative due to a lack of funds when they tried charging me for my monthly fee $26.99… Ended up getting behind about $63 with late fees, OK no problem I paid that off in full when I finally got my next paycheck. I also got charged $52 which they told me was my yearly annual fee… OK, no problem I didn’t fight that. Now I’m getting charged $46 extra dollars because the manager is saying that my yearly annual fee got rejected at the beginning of the month so this is a late fee and charge for that… But in my bank statements, it shows that the $52 got taken out of my bank account, my bank even charged me a $34 overdraft fee for it. IT GOT PAID, it was NOT rejected. I had called this location multiple times to make sure that I was fully paid up and I was assured each time that yes, I was good to go. Nobody said anything about being behind on any more fees. If it was rejected at the beginning of the month WHY did nobody tell me that when I called multiple times to get everything taken care of. Now suddenly I have this random charge a whole month later? She refuses to accept that I was completely paid up and that the $46 charge is not correct. She told me that I needed to take it up with my bank so I did. I went to my bank in person and spoke with them and even they clarified for me that the $52 was in fact PAID and NOT rejected. They have it proven in their system that the payment went through. So this woman is clearly lying and stole money from me. I ended up canceling my membership because I was so angry, she was so incredibly rude, she kept talking over me and cutting me off, so of course I was extremely rude back to her as she deserved. I wish I could report this woman to corporate, but apparently Planet Fitness is all individually owned so there’s literally nothing that I can do with the fact that they stole money from me. All I can do is let everybody, everywhere know how terrible this location is and that the old woman manager is disgusting (looks like a tweaker drug addict) and she steals money, probably skimming it for her own personal benefit or habit. I don’t care about the other payments I had to make, those were justifiable charges but the $46 is NOT and I want it back as it’s rightfully MY hard earned money but she won’t return it. So BE CAREFUL!! This Logan location will rip you off!! And I am letting...

I want to make sure that it's understood that my low rating has nothing to do with the manager/store owner. Throughout my month going to Planet Fitness I was nothing but impressed with her and her hard work and her honesty. I would go to her if there was an issue and she would drop everything and make sure that it was taken care of. But at the end of the day, things came to a head today. I usually work out everyday except for weekends, and yesterday I was reflecting on the fact that I skipped Thursday and friday. Last week I was about as frustrated with locker room cleanliness and Jim etiquette not being enforced as one could be. I was so frustrated that I decided that it was better that I didn't even go to the gym Thursday or Friday because I knew it was just going to ruin my day. Then today I decided to give them another chance. But immediately I was met with a bathroom full of paper towels that were just strewn across the floor and in the urinals and in the shower stalls. I threw away all that paper towel mess and I threw away a soggy pair of men's underwear that had been just thrown in the corner. I did the job of the staff that work there. To no fault of the manager. Then I went out to start my workout and everywhere I went somebody was hogging machines or sitting on a machine and not even using it. The moment that I asked about one of the patrons using one of the machines I was met with hostility to the point that I felt I needed to move my car because they had followed me in on arrival and knew where my car was. I was treated with such hostility by this Patron that I felt I needed to move my car for fear that it was going to be vandalized. That's how angry that person was with me. And all I did was ask if they would move from the machine so other people could use it since they weren't using it. If I can't feel safe at your gym then I can't continue my membership there. So it's such a low rating and such a long review to hopefully bring to attention everything that's wrong with Planet Fitness right now. It did not used to be like this, I used to work out here in 2018 and people had better gym etiquette and more respect for the staff and for the property. But I could not justify staying with Planet...
