I am 81 years old and I can remember growing up in Long Beach. I lived just down the street of the market at 525 Daisy. That house is gone, but the market lives on. Several years ago I took my wife back to the area to see where I grew up. I was telling about the market as we drove down Daisy and she said "Algoods?" The market was still there. Fond memories of having the butcher let me dig into a large gar of dill pickles he had on the counter.
