Just got to Absolute Vinyls instead!!!!
Edit: i was trying to be semi-positive with my prior review, but I seriously would not give this woman a dime of your money. Read the reviews. She charges too much, her records are warped, and she's an awful woman. She also lies about people. I didn't throw a fit. Truth is, I saw a record I was interested in and asked if I could look. She responded "no, it's back stock, you're not allowed back there" that's not a fit when I simply respond "okay" I took pictures the moment I walked in the door because I was impressed with the inventory. I was not stalking the woman who owns the store. Honestly, who would stalk her. As far as my "yammering," you couldn't pay me to talk to her minus the small sentence of "can I go back there?" If I was that poor minor working there, I'd quit immediately!!! Btw, I dont need free records! I have more money than I know what to do with. You are a bummer human, your records suck because people pay 300 bucks for a warped record, and your business will flounder. Actually, genuinely shocked your buisness survived covid. I'd say start setting aside money now to retire!!! Your location is also tricky to find. Im really struggling to find a positive here.
The moment I walked in the door of this shop, I was immediately impressed; it went downhill very, very quickly. All of the records are so insanely priced; altleast the ones I saw. $40-$300 for an album is insane. Some are collectible, I guess , but the amount of inventory she's has that isn't selling is making me wonder how they're in buisness. I feel so bad for the teen working there. Im not even sure he is old enough to work legally yet, and the woman working there seemed intense. Lastly, they have soooooo much inventory in a different room and next to the counter, but you're not allowed to look at it. Supposedly, it's back stock. If you are looking for something collectible and unopened, this is your place. If you're looking for a record because you like music and just want to open your record and listen to it, this isn't your place unless you're willing to spend $200.
The way the owner responds to people's reviews on Google Maps is hideous. This business will definitely...
Read moreTerrible customer service. I'd been looking for a specific record at a few places, so I call Recycled Records. The owner picks up, and she seems extremely inconvenienced that I'm asking her whether she has a record in stock (she sighs heavily, doesn't seem to know where to look for the record in the shop, complains that the band doesn't list the titles on the front of the albums, so she's going to have to pull out every one to read the spine), and cross-examines me on why I can't just come to the store to look myself (where do you live? how far is that? can't you just drive here?). Finally, she finds the record and tells me it's $20. That's really exciting to me, because I've been looking for this record for a while, and that's a really good price, so I double-check: really? $20? Yes. I ask her for the hours of the shop, and she doesn't seem to really know (huh?), but says they'll be open "for a while" today.
Okay, so I call up a friend in Boulder and ask her to drive up to Longmont to pick up the record for me. Friend shows up and the record is priced at $62... over THREE TIMES what she told me on the phone. When my friend says, "I thought it was $20?" she patronizingly responds, "Oh no, this is a very rare record!" Well no sh**. Thanks but no thanks... I'll spend my money elsewhere.
TL;DR: The owner of this shop doesn't know: 1) what she has in stock; 2) where her records are located in her shop; 3) the hours of her shop; 4) how to read a price tag; 5) how to talk...
Read moreIf I could give this place no stars and beg you not to go I would! Avoid this place at all costs. I had the unfortunate experience of working here, and it was an absolute nightmare from day one. On my third day, the owner had a complete mental breakdown in front of customers, screaming at me and slamming the CD player. To make matters worse, she physically shoved me out of the way just to get to the equipment. It was beyond unprofessional and incredibly disrespectful. But that’s not all. The owner consistently disrespects her customers, mocking their beliefs and conversations as soon as they leave the store. She also takes advantage of people who come in to sell their records—without even taking the time to assess their value properly. Instead, she lowballs them with ridiculously unfair offers, taking advantage of hard-working collectors.
I was fired for absolutely no reason, other than the fact that the owner clearly has serious mental health issues and can't manage her business or relationships in a respectful way. She takes advantage of her employees, treats customers horribly, and has no respect for anyone. This place is toxic, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking to support a small business that values respect, fairness, and...
