I actually got lost while cruising around downtown on my segway. I ended taking a shortcut through the park when I ran into this fountain. It was beautifully lit up at night with an awesome view. And go figure after spending about a half hour circling the Bank of America business center for an atm. I found one next to the fountain in the park. Apparently the park was closed because I was the only person riding around taking pictures. I have to say thank you to my phone for not dieing on me and getting some great shots. Gotta love my Samsung. And to the few homeless people I noticed entering the park for not taking my money and segway and leaving me in a Bush. The water is very shallow, so you don't have to worry about your child drowning, and the place is well patrolled by the security for the Music Hall. The parking is only $10 per day at the 108 N. Hill Street Garage, and is a super close walk. The is parking for Grand Park, but it doesn't open until 9 AM. There is something magical here, probably the loneliness of the place at night time - almost no people. The smell of chlorine is in the air, because of disinfection of the water in public fountains.
