This mall has huge potential. I noticed construction on MLK which started back in 2014. It is now April 2019 and the street construction and cement barrier wall still has not been completed. The homeowners need to address this unkept unfinished construction project. It’s an eyesore and causes hazardous driving conditions and commute delays.
I noticed right away upon arrival that this mall should provide a more upbeat and relaxing shopping environment. They have a Police Station attached to the mall which may make shoppers feel more secure or may scare shoppers away. First time I’ve seen a parking lot full police vehicles stationed at a mall. Having a Law Enforcement office in the mall is acceptable but not an entire section. It creates cold environment. I haven’t researched the history of this mall and I believe it is unethical for shoppers to be exposed to repercussions of negativity and violence of the perpetrators who created it from the past.
On a positive note there was plenty of parking and the food court and restrooms where welcoming and clean. Big thumbs up for the selection of healthy food options in...
Read moreEven though I shop at high end, upscale shopping centers like the Westfield Culver City Mall (AK.A.: Fox Hills Mall), Manhattan Village, Plaza El Segundo, Del Amo Mall and South Bay Galleria, I still like to come to little old Crenshaw Mall because it is nostalgic/ holds a lot of memories. There were even movies that were filmed here near and around the mall like Boyz in the Hood.
The Crenshaw Mall isn't up to date with today's shopping experience; it needs to have more variety of stores to be able to rival the malls and shopping centers I mentioned in my first paragraph. The Crenshaw Mall lacks a variety of good, big-name stores. This mall is so small that you can see the entire inside of the mall within a 10 minute walk through it.
Other than that, it is still a nice place to come relax, dine, play and watch a movie. It is always very clean throughout this mall and the sleek-looking restrooms are always very clean, too.
But be wary of gangs and the crime that goes on in and around the...
Read moreI go into this mall frequently, and I enjoy it. But I can't help but wonder who is in charge of security and staffing them. I have been a witness to several security guards sitting around talking and having a pleasant time talking. All while ignoring annoyances and disturbances. And all while one, ONE, man was actually walking around, discharging annoying people, answering questions, and well doing his job. He was an older man with dreadlocks and glasses. I hope he gets a raise or something along those lines because it seems he’s doing the job of multiple people. I do hope this review doesn't disturb the talking time of the people hired to keep order. But I'd hate to see or come in and for something dangerous or unsafe to happen because some people misunderstood the job description. And let one person deal with the loud disruptive teenagers, the chemically challenged people not in their right mind, or the people who have fun stuffing merchandise in their coat and...
