When I lived in Paris I got my nails done every other week. It was my grandmothers rule. As we all know finding a good master in LA is beyond hard, especially on a budget. My testing of this place has gone an extra mile, since I brought 2 boys with me, none of whom understands the point of spending money on nails.
We have some good things, we have complains as well.
Let’s start with bad things.
First all every “sneeze” is going to cost extra. I kind of wish there has been a package you choose and they stopped trying to upsell you.
The result of this was me coming to spend $50 I ended up spending $90 before tip.
The place in general doesn’t have a digitalized customer and booking system. Everything is done on a paper, which is a little old fashioned. I love to not need to call up a place every time I need an appointment.
Next is the girls speaking the native tongue, which is beautiful, but as a person with a bunch of anxieties I keep thinking “are they talking about me, and how long it’s been since I properly took care of myself?”.
I should say, I got a feeling that if the girls working there sense that you don’t know what you came for, like the hands at the bottom of the photo attached, they really relax and don’t do much. Afterwards, he asked me, shouldn’t they have clipped my nails? Well, yes, or filled. The first time I came I had a similar issue. I came to just get nails done, no idea what I want. And I was semi happy with he result. Nice coverage, no shaping of any sort, no one really helped me pick the right color. I just grabbed a random one and didn’t like it.
Moving on to the good things.
This is my personal second time. This time I came prepared, with a photo of what I wanted. A very professional girl took one look and made it perfect. She didn’t warn me about the extra pay for… well, everything, but I should say it was worth every penny.
The job is done quickly, so if you are a busy women this is amazing. 2 separate girls work on your hands and feet at the same time.
Later in the day the feeling of freshly done nails and a lot of compliments definitely paid off.
Final score: 4 stars. Saved to favorites, will continue...
Read moreThis place used to be my favourite but the last three times I’ve been there, iv been so disappointed. The only reason I kept going was out of desperation when I’m rushed to get my nails done for a trip and can’t get anywhere else.
Honestly I don’t know what they do to my feet During the pedicure but EVERY SINGLE TIME they shred the skin so it becomes rough and cut up. bleeding on some occasions. But still I stupidly kept thinking “might have been an off day”.
The last three times Iv ended up with such badly sore feet because of this salon. It takes so long for it to heal.
And the nails always chip within a week.
Iv started going elsewhere now and the difference is incredible. Will never go to this salon again. The nail techs are all friendly but the staff on the desk are just rude and unhelpful, not only to customers but even the way they speak to the nail techs in front of customers is quite off putting and degrading honestly.
Not approachable enough at all to even speak to about any issues as they have a “not our fault” attitude. So what’s the point.
Save your money and go somewhere else for a nicer experience. These guys just want your money and to get you out of the salon as quick as...
Read moreI've given this place a few chances and unfortunately today was my last. I came in for a Pedi and dip manicure. They took me on time. The dip turned out ok, pretty thick and uneven. The pedicure was when I decided I won't come back. She handed me the list of options and pushed the most expensive. I get it, fine. I politely declined and told her I wanted the classic. She continued to push. When she finally accepted what I wanted, she started speaking in a different language to the guy doing my nails and seemed annoyed. I felt awkward and like she no longer wanted to give the service. It was comical how she then barely went through the motions and did the bare minimum. The massage actually made me laugh, it was so pathetic. She barely scrubbed my feet for 5 seconds. I don't have calisuses, I use an electric file once a week and fine the calus remover makes it worse. She was mad I didn't want it. Not sure if they're incentived to upsell, but it ruined my experience and I felt like she did a poor job because of it. She spent most of the pedicure talking to the guy doing my nails. This wasn't relaxing. Won't be back. Plenty of other places...
