I had so much fun playing Inksidious at Escape Room 66 in Los Angeles.

I was in Irvine and needed a to kill a few hours while waiting to see if I would be driving home or heading back to San Diego, so I searched for escape rooms and found Escape Room 66's game in Irvine. They were all booked for the day, but I noticed they had a game in Los Angeles that I could make it to in time that looked like fun, and could be done with two people. I showed it to my son, and he was up for it, and we really enjoyed the game. We played Inksidious, a fun escape room based around a comic artist whose creation has a sinister streak.

We played with two experienced players and only got stuck once because we forgot that the box we put on the table to make it obvious we needed to do something with it existed, and the hint we got from Cole, our amazing game master, was something like "look at that box". Everything was just the right level of difficulty. Neither of us were ever standing around doing nothing, so I think two or three players would be great for this game, but more would work if everyone is vocal and cooperative.

Most of the puzzles relied on locks and combinations, but the puzzles themselves were fun to solve and the story was interesting and the set design was engaging. We finished with about 8 minutes to go, which I felt was a good amount of time for how we did with the game. I'm looking for excuses to find myself in the area again to play the other game they have at this location, the Mush Room, though I expect I'll visit their Irvine location before then. This would make a good introductory escape room, especially with how welcoming and kind the staff at this location are. Don't be afraid to let them know what you want to get out of the room, I'm confident they can help ensure you'll have...

genuinely such a fun and amazing set of rooms! we played both inksideous and mush-room in one go and had an amazing time :) the rooms are so beautifully crafted and thought through. I love rooms that feel like they have life and character with little details that make it feel more whole, and these rooms definitely fulfilled that. the puzzles were super fun to solve and they felt very satisfying once I understood them. the themes are also just so fun and magical, the rooms are very clearly designed and crafted by people who are making rooms that they enjoy! this is of course a small business so if you enjoy supporting local escape rooms I strongly suggest them. the rooms can be difficult for two players but they are so friendly and accessible considering the price point as well! not many escape rooms make it affordable for a two player room so I'm grateful for that as well :)

with all of that said the people who work here are so incredibly nice and thoughtful. Tuesday is such a lovely game master and person in general! there were no games after ours so we just spent a long time after our games talking and hanging out with their dog and cat 🥺 you can really feel the love and care from this place and i can't recommend them enough! the vibes are just so good, so if you're in the area please give...

We did Inksidious for my birthday this past weekend. As seasoned escape room veterans (with 100+ escape rooms under our belt), this was by far one of our favorites. You can tell they've put in their heart and soul into the rooms.

The puzzles were challenging and incredibly fun to solve. Something we appreciated was the variety of puzzle types and lock types - something that larger corporate escape rooms lack in variety. Gameplay didn't feel stale or repetitive even for a second, and we loved that the hints don't hold your hand and give you the answers. We want to specifically acknowledge the art in the room - it was absolutely breathtaking. So creative, so clever, and so so funny.

Our host Jules was so kind and warm, and it was a treat to get to know her after we were done! She took the time out to just chat and get friendly, and even gave me a free T-shirt when she found out it was my birthday. And how could we forget Beans - resident cat and total sweetheart. I could easily spend my whole day in there just petting her.

All in all, thank you for an incredible birthday, and we can't wait to be back for Mush Room +...

We had an amazing experience at the family-owned Escape Room 66 in the Inksidious Room! From start to finish, Tuesday, our fantastic game master, made everything so easy—she helped us with booking, accommodated our schedule for an earlier start, and welcomed us with such a warm, friendly vibe. The room itself was filled with clever puzzles and creative challenges that made it a truly unique experience. You can feel the love and dedication in this family-run business, and we’re already excited to come back and try the Mushroom Room next time when we are in the area! One of our team is going to move to another state next month so this was her last escape experience with us, Huge thanks to Tuesday for making our adventure unforgettable. Added on our favorite rooms list!! Highly recommend!

This was such an incredible escape room experience! You can feel the love and thoughtfulness that went into this place as soon as you walk in and notice all the cool little designs and parts of the room (even the pen you use to sign the waiver looks like a key, so cute!). Tuesday was such a sweetheart and told us to help ourselves to free water and Capri suns while we waited and Cole was our game master and he was just super friendly as well. We've done escape rooms before but the Inksidious room was so much fun/super creative and the puzzles were challenging but logically made sense if you pay attention to the details! I definitely want to go back here and try the Mushroom and to pet their adorable cat Beans!!! Much love to these guys for such a wonderful experience!
