OH MY - SO BAD. Okay I've never written a bad review about anywhere ever before but I'm actually appalled at my experience at Hana Nails and would like to warn others. I used to work as a receptionist in a nail bar in London, and the first thing that struck me was how uninterested and rude the receptionist was on the phone when I made my appointment, but I read some good reviews and was like hey I'll give it a go. First of all, the receptionist was just as rude in person, I got told just to pick a colour out without talking to my technician, which is a thing you always do first in London, but okay maybe thats not how its done here, I won't hold that against the place. However, when I got told to "sit down over there" (which again, you're reserved a place & shown to it in England), my technician came over and I started talking to her about how I asked for nail art on the phone and showed her a picture and asked her if she could do it. She said she couldn't do it. (I'm not really sure why I was assured on the phone that she could then..) But she said she could do her best because she was free without other appointments. She started filing my nails into a round shape without even asking me what shape I wanted so now they're too short. She was doing everything SO quickly to the point where I felt like she was rushing to get rid of me. She cut the skin around my nails so quickly it actually hurt and its been about 12 hours since this and my middle finger and thumb are still sore. AND MIGHT I ADD, SHE PUT THE TOOLS SHE USED ON ME JUST BACK IN THE BOX AND THEN AFTER USED THEM ON SOMEONE ELSE WITHOUT CLEANING THEM! I dread to think the last time they were cleaned before she just dug them into my skin. Then she started just painting them and oh my god it was awful! she was getting it all over my cuticles and the sides of my fingers (bare in mind I also chose black as my nail varnish could and its a real mess), the edges aren't even painted now, she was using her finger nails to scrape the paint out from the sides of my nails, which like COME ON. It's uneven, like some bits have more paint on them than others. Then halfway through a customer sat down next to me and then my technician said she had to rush cause she was her next client. So thats why she was rushing and pulling me about! Why tell me you're free all afternoon and also why was I given this technician when I've specifically made an appointment for nail art which is obviously going to take longer. Its listed on the website as something they do! I'm hardly asking for something extreme! Then she was telling me I couldn't have green crosses even though I already picked out a green like the picture I brought with me, she said its halloween soon and I should have white otherwise I'm doing it wrong....Did I say I wanted halloween nails? Then she starts just rushing to do the white crosses on me and I said I didnt want white and she did it anyway. Then I see she's doing crosses like "Church crosses" not "maths crosses" which again is the opposite of what I wanted. The comparison to what I wanted and what I got is actually laughable. Not to mention the crosses are messy and not even in the centre of my nail. They're just wherever she rushed to put them, which is driving me insane to look at how off centre they are. Then to top it off they don't dry your nails with a UV dryer like every nail salon ever, they just told me to go sit infront of a fan. Yes a desk style kind of fan that was blowing directly into my face. The lady sitting next to me at the fan actually even said to me "oh my god i hate it" when looking at her own nails. So I guess I'm not the only one. I'm not a confrontational person and didn't want to say anything to the unapproachable receptionist so I paid and left. And I really wish I hadn't! What a waste of money when I could've done them better myself which is not what I want from a professional salon. I'm going to upload a photo of what I asked for and was told I could get, next to what I actually got. DO NOT GO HERE.

Hana Nail Salon – Marina del Rey’s Destination for Luxury, Care, and True Nail Artistry Tucked away in the heart of Marina Del Rey, Hana Nail Salon is a rare find—where outstanding service, comfort, and craftsmanship come together to create a truly luxurious experience. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick touch-up or treating yourself to a full spa day, this salon delivers far beyond expectations. At the center of the experience is Karen, a standout nail technician whose artistry is unmatched. She approaches every manicure and pedicure with a careful eye and a steady hand, transforming simple nail care into a kind of quiet, luxurious ritual. Karen is more than skilled—she’s thoughtful, warm, and attentive, creating a space where you can completely relax while she works her magic. Adding to the indulgence are Hana’s pedicure and manicure chairs, which feature built-in massage systems with multiple settings. Whether you prefer a gentle rolling massage or something more invigorating, these chairs are designed to soothe and relax your entire body. It’s the kind of subtle luxury that makes a big impact—you’ll find yourself sinking in, letting go, and forgetting about the world outside. The salon itself is spotlessly clean, calm, and inviting, with a modern yet comfortable atmosphere. Every detail is carefully considered, and the staff is consistently friendly, professional, and welcoming. Prices are refreshingly reasonable, especially for the level of care and quality you receive—truly one of the best values in the Marina Del Rey area. For anyone looking for beautifully done nails, exceptional customer service, and a relaxing escape from the everyday, Hana Nail Salon is a must-visit. Be sure to book with Karen—and prepare to be pampered from the moment you sit in one of those heavenly massage chairs.

I stumbled upon this nail salon near Marina del Rey, right in front of Costco, while I was in the area on Christmas Eve (December 23). I decided to try them, and I’m so glad I did! Chloe did my nails, and after a quick chat about how regular gel never seems to last on me (I’ve been getting my nails done for years), we agreed on a gel builder. I was thrilled with the results—my nails looked great and lasted well over four weeks without issues. Remember that they charge extra for cuticle removal, but Chloe was kind enough to do it for me at no additional cost. Her work impressed me, so I booked another appointment two months later. This time, I went again with two coats of Funny Bunny, a chrome powder finish, and the builder gel. Once again, I was pleased with how they turned out. The salon itself is spacious, clean, and well-kept, and the customer service is excellent. Parking is also a breeze, with street parking and an underground lot available. If you’re looking for a great nail salon with skilled technicians and long-lasting results, I highly recommend trying this place!

DONT GET THE EYELASH EXTENSIONS HERE! Usually when I have a bad experience I just don't go back but bad eyelash extensions are soooo painful I truly feel the need to warn others.

First, the lash "technician" didn't show up for my appointment. One of the women that worked there called her and then told me she'd be 10 minutes. I waited 40 minutes.

Next, the process was not very comfortable. She kept readjusting the tape under my eyes during the process and my eyes were not watering so I don't know for what purpose she could be moving the tape so much apart from not putting on properly in the first place.

Continued, there was a lot of poking, propping and pressing on my eyeball. It took forever, eyelash extensions is a long process but this felt forever I cannot be sure if it was really because it was longer than usual or because I was so uncomfortable that it felt like it was going on endlessly.

This should have been the glue "ohhh because you have short lashed it was very hard." Rubbish! I've had individual eyelash extensions around 20 times and the truly professional technicians never had a problem.

I was so relieved that it was over I could wait to get out of there, I took a look in the mirror, the looked OK but I couldn't tell for sure as my eyes were teary because the glue was stinking like hell and my eyes had been prodded so much.

When I got back I noticed that they felt really stiff like the lashed on dolls. I did clarify that I wanted individual lashes and the softer material such as silk or mink. I don't know what these are. Plus two different type of lashes (in terms of texture) were used as though she ran out of one sort and just continued with another. The ones in the inner corner of my eyes were harder and thicker than the others.

I day later my eyelids really hurt in certain points and on running my finger across my lash line I realized that I had glue stuck to my actually eye lids, so every time I closed my eyes tight the glue was pinched my skin. I was hoping that it would loosen up but after several days the pain just got worse.

The reason why the pain got worse is because the lashes are all clumped together with blobs of glue. When one of the lashes fell, I then saw that they were not individual lashes at all but instead small cluster lashes.

This is the worst application of lashes ever. The technician told me that she had been doing lashed for 10 years. NO WAY, more like 10 days.

Like I said if it wasn't for the fact of the severe pain keeping me awake I may not have bothered to leave a review but I'm sitting here at 1:03am hunting for a real professional eyelash extension salon to have them removed asap.

YOU SHOULD NEVER OFFER A SERVICE FOR SUCH A SENSITIVE AREA AS THE EYES IF YOU HAVE NOT...

WORST NAIL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! Went in for a new set with a stiletto nail. She cut them extremely short AFTER I told her I wanted them long, complained about making them sharp and got insulted when I told her that I DID NOT want an almond shaped nail. The next problem was that she filed my nails crooked and got upset that I had to keep asking her to make them straight. I had gotten so fed up to the point that I refused to have her try and keep fixing it because she kept making it worse . then we get to the color and I had asked 4 times if the glitter I was choosing would be opaque enough. You would think the owner of the buisness would know their product.. THINK AGAIN! She said has and told me that she's afraid it would be too simple. 1 coat in and it was sheer as hell. She asked me how much I had paid for my nails at another place and gave her that price (I understand how competitive these shops can be) she proceeded to tell me that what I had paid at the other shop was better than what she charges and that I should have gone there. As we're finishing up they ask for me to pay gave me a 2 dollar discount since I paid cash. The color still wasn't opaque enough and she stated that she already told me it would be. Which she didn't and got upset that I repeated back what she said to me. The other nail tech kept saying I should have said something which I replied that I did numerous times but still was not listened to. After everything I was seriously unhappy and asked for a partial refund to be reasonable when most people would ask for a full refund. She got mad at me and said that how can she take time out of her day to do this for me and then i have the nerve to ask for HER money back. This pissed me off, because I won't even send food back at a resturaunt if they make it wrong because I don't like being that kind of person. But IM PAYING YOU FOR A SERVICE! NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND! I even tipped her to be nice. Which she was still ungrateful for even when I handed it to her without receiving a thank you. She finally shoved my partial refund back at me and told me to never come back. Working for small businesses I understand the importance of income. But GOOD customer service is the most important thing for a company so you have returning customers. I will gladly take my money and bot be over charged for horrible quality...
