hello, my experience at la fitness westwood was, bottom line, the worst experience i have ever had (and i was only in there for less than 3 minutes). i walk in and scan my membership card and the man at the front says rescan. so i rescan. upon rescanning, this man proceeds to say you can’t go in in the rudest tone i have ever heard. keep in mind i am a 20 year old female college student talking to a 40 something year old man. and also keep in mind earlier that day i have just been diagnosed with psoriasis so i obviously am not having the best day. so, irritatedly, i say im under my moms account since I am 20 and she created this account when i was under 18. (this is all i say in a slightly irritated voice). i have used this account for the past five years and have gotten into every other la fitness with no problem (that is until i came here). my mom has not even used this account as she only set it up under her name as I was under 18. back to the story, the man says doesnt matter, you cant get in. once again in the rudest tone i have ever heard. based on his looks and tone, his toxic masculinity took over once he heard me sound irritated as a 20 year old female. this is the only interaction i’ve had with him and he doesn’t offer me any solution, nothing. just a “you can’t come in”, no “come talk to someone in our team so they can fix your account/set up a new account for you”. even upon leaving, the man was talking to someone else at the front who offered me a guest pass. “can she use my guest pass” he says, a random stranger who is way nicer than a worker who is supposed to at least help. and the guy at the front desk says no she can’t in a way nicer tone, i don’t hear the reasoning as i walk out by this time.
genuinely the worst customer experience i have had, EVER. do yourself a favor and stay away from this gym. yes you want to go to a gym that’s local and the closest to you, but you do NOT want to go to a gym that treats their loyal customers like absolute crap. if you are a young girl in college who talks back even the slightest to the rudest customer service, you will be denied and given the worst attitude possible. I genuinely have never written a review about any place, nevermind a gym, but this has absolutely baffled me in so many ways. No solution was offered, the rudest tone was given, and the man acted like I was a criminal, saying no at the quickest chance to the person who offered me the guest pass. i do not have the name of the worker who has done this, but la fitness of westwood, a -Hispanic mid-age man who (seems) short and has very tan skin with black hair who works at the front desk needs to leave/his position needs to be rethought. his negligence and lack of empathy for others needs a reevaluation. given this terrible day of my diagnosis, i do understand that i could be way more upset than usual, but his lack of empathy truly ruined my day and outlook on la fitness. it makes me upset that someone like this could even be hired — the guest who offered my guest pass also seemed baffled by this huge change of attitude. to him, he was insanely nice, but to me, the rudest man i have ever talked to. never again. do yourself the favor and get a corepower yoga membership or drive an extra 10 mins to go to another la fitness location. i am...

Read moreBad experience. The personal trainer here, made "mistakes"(quoted from her own comments). I ended up paying $1440 just to get out of the plan. I was also charged $640 unexpectedly, which was for the two extra months I didn't think I was going to pay for.
She didn't print the contract to me. She said she emailed me the contract but I never received it. Her explanation was, that might be an "email system error".
After she heard I want to cancel the personal training plan, she said I should have cancelled it sooner, when it was still possible to do so at lower cost. I was never told anything about this until then.
I just wanted to buy 8 sessions of the personal training. I ended up signing the contract for 1 year, paid monthly, without knowing. I didn't expect this because she had already analyzed my goal and came to the conclusion "you will need about 3 month to reach your goal". And she understood I was on a tight budget. I was reluctant to buy these 8 sessions and I told her I could "have a try". When she said "This will renew itself", I didn't know that means the monthly payment of $320. I thought that was impossible in that situation. I thought it was just the personal training membership fees, $80 per year or so. She gave me one free personal training session before I signed the contract. It was very tough for me. My heart beat fast, my hand was shaking, I dropped my pen when she talked to me about the contract.
She said my contract was no longer in the system and she can't give or email me that when I went there to cancel. She didn't mention I can cancel it by paying half of the remaining payments. I saw this option online and told her I want to do this. So I paid $1440 and got out of the plan.
What I saw online was, other than that, I have to 1) move to somewhere that requires 1 hour drive or more to get to LA Fitness, or 2) be in bad health and can't continue the training. I also read that changing the credit card or bank account can't always prevent me from future payments, because they may have other information. So though she told me to do so, I didn't. I can't adopt option 1) or 2) at a lower cost. I will probably encounter higher cost to get a lawyer. I can only tell you my actual experience. I learnt a lesson and I hope this...
