Sansai Japanese Grill Westwood — Restaurant in Los Angeles

We used the Westwood & the Santo Monica store several times for our office lunches and everything was so fresh and good . Not on our last delivery on June 17th from the Westwood location . The tuna hand rolls were beyond bad . They had a very bad fishy smell and the tuna had all this thick & hard tendons  in , impossible to chew . This part of the tuna should not have been used . It was not eaten & went in the trash can . The shrimp was so overcooked that it felt like a piece of  plastic . Was flat & hard . The miso soup was bland & very thin , felt like a diluted soup . Sending out food like this is inconsiderate and disrespectful towards your customers and their hard earned money . Look at the photos and I do not think you would want to receive and pay for food like this . I hope this was an isolate thing and not how you service your customers. There was two hairs in my white rice - and also I requested for brown rice and they gave me white rice. I ordered the chicken place doordashed - it came super quickly so I was happy about that. They gave me my dressing and sauce on the side which I appreciated but it was less enjoyable when the rice was white (as I requested brown) and that there were two hairs. I didn’t order extra chicken but they gave me extra chicken, which I guess is positive because I didn’t pay more for it but also the rest of the meal put a downer on it. The vegetable skewer was pretty good and fresh. The summer greens and cabbage salad were good. The whole meal Tasted pretty average. Cheap, fast & tasty.

San Sai is a nice alternative to the other fast lunch options in Westwood. Their meals are not too expensive and always good and filling. The best part is, they are super fast. There is never a line to order and they make the food quickly so you are in and out in less than 10 mins.

If you are looking for a light lunch, I recommend the California roll - each roll comes with a lot of pieces and you can add soup or a salad for just a dollar. Their bowl or combo plates are also good if you are looking for something...
