Been taking classes at LACC, wanted to support the community, and I love a good thrift. Was having a good time, until I went to a stand where the vendor didn't greet me, which was fine. But then she spoke to someone else, and I heard the words "la negrita." I'm not 100% fluent in Spanish yet, but I know she was referring to me, the only Black person around. I know the term itself isn't necessarily racist, but with the context of the vendor not speaking to me at all, not even looking me in the eye, it felt like prejudice.    Read moreSo this is more for management. My daughter and I paid $70 dollars for a space and didnât even sell enough to cover half the space fee. Thereâs 4 blocks surrounding the swapmeet with outside vendors that post for free. I donât mind anyone trying hard to make a living, but when you are a vendor and pay $70 to not have any customers because they are all outside is not fair. We woke up at 5 am and had a long day made no money. While my daughter was inside selling. I went outside to ask and they pay $0 is first come first serve. You either shouldnât have vendors outside taking customers from paying vendors or make the space way cheaper. After paying for space, gas, help, and time we lost money....

For me itâs worth an occasional tripâ-I canât tell you what I sometimes find there: theyâre in the Collectibles category though. Secrets. Fun to find something cool here for cheap, Iâll tell you that.
