I went to this newly opened Island Pacific in Los Angeles to try the food. I ordered the breakfast combo (tapa, sinangag, itlog at buong daing + kape) for $10.99. The price range is fair given the fact that food prices nowadays are too expensive, food tastes good- the meat is tender and easy to chew, serving portions are pretty decent, has service water to drink, dining area is clean and cozy. I also bought pancit(sml size)$4.50, turon-$1.75, karioka-$3.50 and halohalo- $7.50. The whole store is very clean, nice ambiance, friendly and helpful staffs. There are also other food stalls/ restaurants like Max’s of Manila (for to-go only)…this will be my next place to explore the foods, San Honore (order the chicken pandesal, tastes so good!), Crab Mentality (they have a BOGO promotion), Chirp🐤 and Oink 🐷(soon to open).
I’m happy that there is a place like these closer to where we lived that I can go to see and meet my kababayans, shop and eat, it really helps me coping up with missing my beloved country...
Read moreI came today 1/12/25 around 330 pm, went home and didn’t check my receipt. My total was $55.80 large adobo, one ginataan, and combo Liempo/munngo. I gave the lady $20 cash, she looked at me and I said charge the rest on my card so it’s supposed to be $35.80. I just checked my bank now n they charged$55.80 and my receipt is nowhere to be found. There were 2 cashiers that time, it was the younger lady on the right side of the counter. It’s too late for me to go back and look stupid not having the receipt. They don’t even have a contact number even if I wanted to call. So I basically just gave my $20 away. Moral of the story. Always check your receipt before leaving the store or doing...
Read moreIt's a well-laid planned layout with wide aisles and a clean environment. Even the fresh meat and seafood section does not have the usual odor that comes from such places. The market carries many Filipino grocery items, but they also have Vietnamese and Thai items. They carry frozen whole duck, quail, and brown chicken. They carry frozen beef tongue and fresh oysters. In the market, you can also find fully cooked items that you can get a la cart or as a combination with rice. There is a bakery and a boba stand too. You can therefore eat lunch or early dinner and get your grocery shopping done in one place! Oh, and there's plenty of parking which is RARE in...
