Worse store w/the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE in there is JOA SHOES (don't know the stall #...will amend review later if I find out) & it SHOULD NOT BE SUPPORTED, esp. by ppl of color!!!! and considering NOTHING but ppl of color(esp blacks) shop in there-while most of the owners are korean-it is unacceptable when one of these owners/employees treats a customer w/ANYTHING but respect! Perhaps the color of our GREEN (money) can affect a change that we can ALL benefit from.
My recent visit was nothing less of rude & ridiculous, and I hope this review causes someone to SUPPORT ANOTHER BUSINESS that is customer-friendly & one that VALUES ppl bc they actually depend on us to keep them running.
During my recent early morning visit, I asked if the shoes I wanted were available in sz 9, the ee told me she had them in 9 & 10, but she'd bring me the 10 first--I told her I wear a 9, but she could bring the 10 also--she proceeded to tell me, no, she'd bring me the larger sz first (why I don't know). I explained I would rather start w/MY SZ first then work up, so I needed the 9, but to just bring them both & I could decide from there. She refused to just bring them both & proceeded to argue w/me...but, pressed 4/time, I agreed to try whatever she brought & move on from there.
Not one however 4/letting ppl get away w/disrespecting me, or handling me just any kinda way & frustrated from my experience w/this woman, I decided not to give her my $ bc of her rudeness--if I could help it--and wanted to see if another store there had them...long story short, I searched around the mall, but they did not, so I had to go back. The owner, who rudely hadn't spoken (tho I did) when I first got in there, saw me walking around to other stores, and looked even angrier when I later came back, instead of being grateful 4/the chance to make a sale. It was not much longer than 20 mins (or so) mins later, but she actually told me they were out of that shoe & that she'd sold them to "another one". I asked her another one of what(?), and she pointed at me (meaning another black wmn, I can only figure). Now really pissed/shocked by her comment & her outright lie, I kept at her bc I knew those shoes had NOT been bought that quickly (esp. since it was so early & I had been the only customer in there), and I wasn't goin to let her get away w/her treatment or lie. Well, long & short of it, I got on her nerves so long she had to call the mean looking owner back. He tried to act hard at 1st too, until I told him that he saw me literally JUST try those shoes on not 20 mins b4 & asked if he could check again, I guess feeling silly or maybe even annoyed (who cares), he finally decided it was in his best interest to quit trippin & to not let his racist/stupid ee cost him his $, he did come back w/them, proving she HAD lied!! Like I said, WORSE store in that "mall"!! DO NOT SUPPORT THIS STORE PPL--if they acted like this w/me, TRUST they will...

Read moreNeeeeeeeeeever will I spend another penny at the Slauson Swap Meet. I'm giving it two stars because I did like the swapmeet/cafeteria style set-up. The selection of stores was decent, but there were two things I didn't like, that will prevent me from returning there. For any reason.
Some stores and eateries are cash only. If you don't carry cash, they do have 2 high priced ATMs near the back wall of the warehouse, but....its about to be 2017 and many people don't carry cash. It just seems like a rip off to charge people high ATM fees because they want to spend their money in your establishment.
In 2 seperate stores, the clerks litteraly followed me from aisle to aisle, stood at the ends of the aisles, and watched my hands. I didn't know what was going on at first. I thought the first one was watching me because she had a question or something. But when I asked her if SHE needed help, she didn't even know English. I put down the $60 worth of stuff I was going to buy, and went to the next booth... they did the same thing.
You do not treat customers as if they are thieves. Thats just...
