I've never in my life have written a review specially something so negative but I think I've had enough. My child has been a client of regional center since she was 2 she is now 7, she is autistic but see her autism is mild so I was told by one of her many coordinators that there wasnt really much services they cant provide me. Even if its mild she should be treated for the very few symptoms she has in order for her symptoms to not get worst. I say one of her many coordinators because since she has been a client she has had about 3-4 different coordinators who manage her case plus one of them i requested for her to be change for the same reason that I was offer no help. They seem to only call u when they need you, but not when u need them. They call me once a year to conduct the reassessment a reassessment they get pay for by the insurance. And that's what they recently did her assign Coordinator call me for the reassessment I didnt answer i was working so when i could i return call and they never contact me back. This past week my daughters doctor requested for her to get ABA and OT she spoke highly of regional center and ask me to also seek for help from them to assist me in case her health plan deny her any services. Again I call them back no answer but this time I decide to also contact the supervisor and didnt answer either but I made sure i let a voicemail and complain and this happen Thursday. Friday happen and guess what I got a call. I work full time so the case worker whatever she is left a voice mail telling me that I need to get a prescription from her doctor requesting these services in order for them to contact who they needed to contact etc.... I call back I was nice Introduce self and all this case worker first response was "ahuh......ahuh" anymore professional! She repeated the same thing again so I ask her if she could request the prescription to my daughters doctor, from what I recall I did sign a consent form when my daughter was first assign here. And she refused to do so you mean to tell me I have to go to doctor again then to regional center and keep going back and forth. As a Coordinator/case manager for services you should be able to coordinate you should also be able to communicate with with the pcp and health insurance or any provider your client is seeing it is called and Interdisciplinary team. To top it off this person had no clue about my daughters case, even though I provided name and date of birth she didnt bother looking into it and claim she already had come to my house. FALSE. When she hasn't done so then try to throw in a smart mouth comment so unprofessional. I work for a medical group thank God I have some sort of medical knowledge so I wasnt going to wait for them to give me a call a month after so i took the initiative to call the health plan before they got to me and all I had to do was fax a paper to my daughters doctor the health plan provided me a listing of ABA centers I can take my daughter all I'm waiting is for the doctor to submit the paper work. And I got her benefits so she qualifies. And no need of 3rd parties. Honestly I cnt imagine those parents who have little knowledge and dnt know what to do when times are hard and with ppl that its obvious they dont like their job and want to assist you the bare minimum. Parents please speak up. Contact you health plans your medical groups seek for help their is plenty of help. If you dnt have one yet your kids can be assign case managers through the health plan and medical group and it's a big help. Don't take no...
Read moreThis center is terrible at communication and lack professionalism. My daughter has been a client at the Regional center since she was 18 months. They provided her services but damn did it take a lot of follow ups. The first service coordinator, Shannon White, was very friendly and understanding but she would disappear for weeks. No word from her at all. Until someone else took her case by the name of Yvette St Clair and again, nothing. I asked if they could help me pay for my daughter's speech therapy since she is still a client with the center and insurance doesn't cover it, well its been a run around and no communication. Yvette then transferred my case to someone name Rosie. I emailed her on Oct 3rd and no answer still. Instead she calls me upset about a meeting that she supposedly had with me which there is NO record that I spoke to her over the phone. Once I told her that she started huffing and puffing on the phone, annoyed that she drove to my house for a meeting that I was completely unaware of. Extremely rude. I do not write reviews but the lack of communication and professionalism is extremely disappointing from a service that is here to help children and...
Read moreThe update on SCLRC turned out to be quite different from what I had anticipated. I arrived for my IIP appointment at 3 PM, and while the building itself seemed functional, the surrounding area had an uneasy atmosphere it felt slightly rundown during the day, and as night approached, it became noticeably dim and isolated. The lighting outside wasn’t the best, adding to the sense of unease.
On a positive note, parking is free for clients, which is definitely convenient. However, according to my case manager, the parking lot closes strictly at 7 PM, meaning we had to be mindful of the time to avoid being locked in. This made the appointment feel somewhat time sensitive, as we couldn’t linger too long afterward.
As for the meeting itself, I think it went smoothly. The discussion was constructive, and things seemed to move in the right direction. Now, it’s just a matter of waiting to see how things unfold with the available resources how accessible and useful they’ll actually be in practice. Hopefully, the support I need will come through, but only time will tell how effective the...
