This was such a cool distillery, the entire grounds were super cool and very clean! Their gift shop was a decent size and had a great assortment of goodies. Their tours were all booked up but we were able to go up to the third floor to taste their bourbons. This was our first time trying their bourbons and all four of them were incredible! The bartenders did a fantastic job guiding us through the tasting and the views from the third floor were great and overlooked the Nulu area. They had a special release that was only available at their distillery, the Follesrunn rye whiskey that was finished in a cognac cask. We tried some and it had incredible flavor! Needless to say we bought a few bottles! We also found out that the owner, Kaveh Zamanian, was across the alley at a liquor store signing and selling special single barrel landscape bottles. So naturally, after we left the distillery we went over and had a great chat with Kaveh. We even got him to sign the bottles we purchased minutes ago from the distillery. He was very nice and really appreciated us stopping by the distillery to try some of their stuff. Overall this was a fantastic experience and I can’t wait to come back and take a tour!

Stopped in for a tasting only shortly before last call, and overall was a good experience. The bar staff was friendly and accommodating. The service was fast. The outside seating area was beautiful outside with comfortable outdoor furniture. we did not take a tour, but you could smell the cook walking into the tasting room. The facility is very upscale with subtle Alice in Wonderland hints around the property; especially out back! A tasting was $20 for 4 tastes. Tasting Experience: I had never tried the Heigold, and being able to taste it alongside the Boxergrail and it was an enlightening experience! Heigold was light, bright, fruity with a slight rye spice on the finish. Boxergrail came in with a nice funky note from the sour mash but drank a little hot neat. A few drops of water (one of the few tasting rooms in downtown that had them available) opened this up. Tried this in a cocktail later and was quite enjoyable. I've had Dareringer previously and surprisingly stacked against the others it wasn't a stand out favorite for me. Overall this tasting for me showed me that while I have enjoyed Rabbit hole, it really isn't a product for my tastes.

So I’ve attempted to contact this company on multiple platforms and I cannot get a response. I call the phone number and no one ever answers nor replies to the VM. I’ve tried to reach out to them on their website and it doesn’t go through nor does anyone reach out to you. I’ve sent requests on Yelp and Facebook but again, nothing. I bought a bottle of their Derringer brand for $90, and it was horrible. I bought this version twice before and it was great but this time it was disgusting, it tasted like old socks soaked in mildew. I attempted to drink it twice and both times it was unbearable. So to reach out to the distillery and ask if it was a bad batch or an issue with the bottles or corks, they just ignored me. I had a chance to go to the distillery in person and it just so happened that they were closed for two weeks to do maintenance. And the worse thing to add insult to a customer, their mural on the wall outside of the facility states “ You’re important to our Future “ but if I can’t call and talk or leave a comment or complaint, then how important am I?. I’ve enjoyed Rabbit hole in the past but as a veteran and bourbon lover, it’s time to move on from them and try someone that IS interested in its customers input and will work to make things right.

Rabbit Hole is a modern building in the city which is different from other distilleries nearby. There is a small gift shop just inside the entrance. The tour has a per person cost and can be booked online in advance. If you are not touring, there is a bar upstairs featuring large windows and comfortable seating. Our tour guide Dana started the tour with a cocktail for everyone in the group which set an upbeat tone. This tour was much different from others in that all senses were used. We were encouraged to touch, to smell, to taste, to ask questions. It was a bit Wonka in the vat room to the point that I laughed- you can touch this one and that one but don’t lift that tarp! Everyone in the group seemed to enjoy themselves. Being from out of state, not all Rabbit Hole bourbons are available to us and our favorite in the tasting was actually one we had never before tried! We bought it in the gift shop. I recommend stopping by Rabbit Hole. It’s a newer distillery, but what it lacks in history it makes up in joy. I developed an even greater respect for the bourbon making process thanks to this tour.
