Street parking. Small patio. Trending swanky looking spot we were looking forward to trying it with so many great reviews so chose it for a romantic anniversary dinner. Service was friendly if rather adhd, disorganized, off. We each ordered a glass of wine and my Beloved also ordered a martini he was hoping to enjoy while we awaited our entrees. Wine was tiniest pour ever served in a restaurant and quite the wait. Martini came without garnish. Both just average quality. Second glass of wine was forgotten and didn’t come until half way through entrees when we inquired again. I didn’t know many of the pasta terms and the menu seemed to assume we spoke Italian. Luckily our server was gracious to explain the terms and describe the offerings. I chose one of the four handmade pasta offerings, already forgot the name of it. Came with a clam sauce and was nicely flavored though fairly clam free. Maybe something was lost in translation. Portion was around half to three quarters of a cup. Ungarnished and no side with it. Nice flavor but not satisfying. Pizza was ok. Ham and fresh basil on top added after it was baked which was different but tasty. $72 included the tip for a small pizza, small pasta, meh martini, and two forgettable tiny wine pours. All our food was served on chipped plain white plates made in China. Two different servers told us the owner prefers this approach Of highlighting his broken dishes to add character. I am concerned about lead exposure and food safety more than chipped plates masquerading as character. We wanted to see this concept work with gratuity included in price because we appreciate our servers everywhere we go and hate when we see any of them treated poorly. Overall experience was sad. Some good things are going on here with flavors and food quality. Just seemed like decisions about cost savings are getting in their own way. Wishing them all the best. We will hit a Re-Do button on our anniversary dinner somewhere else another day- somewhere that mirrors our intention for joy, passion, abundance, and making the most of every bite and every day! (My dining companion says he would rate this experience as zero stars mostly because of their pretentiousness and lack of substance. Guess I was feeling more generous because those five pieces of pasta that did make it to my plate where...
Read moreI went here for brunch after wanting to try it for a while. The atmosphere and environment were cute. The service was sub par, our waitress did not keep up with refills and barely spoke to us the whole time. She delivered our food to our table without saying a word, not asking if it loooked ok or if we needed anything else, and every time I needed a coffee refill it took at least 5 minutes. I got the breakfast plate with sausage and grits. As you can see in the photo, the scrambled eggs looked as if they were sitting out for a bit before getting delivered to the table, and were luke warm. The focaccia came with no butter or jam, and when finally got attention from our server to ask, she took over five minutes to bring some to me. (I personally don’t like dry toast with scrambled eggs, and there was no option to get over easy). The sausage was spicy, but good, and the grits were creamy but lacked flavor. The scrambled eggs had good texture but also lacked seasoning. We also got the mcvetti breakfast sandwich, the egg was a square cut out scrambled egg and the sausage was less than the amount that came with my plate, so it was basically just egg with one slice of cheese. The potatoes were good tho. You can see the picture of the sandwich, you can’t even see the indent of the sausage under the egg because it was so thin and small lol. We both agreed we would rather have a breakfast sandwich from McDonald’s than ever get that again, but we also agreed we will not be returning and advising our friends away from brunch here. The Bloody Mary we had was $12, came with an olive, a slice of lemon and celery, and was ordered spicy but was way less spicy than the sausage. My fiancé LOVES bloody Mary’s and we get them at every brunch we go to, and this one was disappointing, and he said weirdly enough, it was slightly sweet. Overall, we were extremely underwhelmed with the brunch here and would not recommend it. Charging $14 for a breakfast sandwich like this is ROBBERY. The pecan bomboloni were...
