Jim Patterson Stadium — Attraction in Louisville

We love the Cardinals, coach, and the stadium!!! It's been a huge bummer recently because the playground has a loose fence and a loose structure that holds the right side together. This leaves open metal exposed... also, since the expansion of the berm, they put temporary fencing on the hill beside the entrance to the playground. We have had to help several injured kids who have pulled this temporary metal fence onto their bodies and faces when climbing up and down the hill to the playground. We love the atmosphere,Cardinals, and Stadium, but this expansion has left the playground and area around it unsafe, especially to young children! Hopefully, they will get things fixed soon, but we have made several inquiries about fixing this area, but no changes have happened yet. We only host 9 more teams, so it may not get fixed...

A true Louisville treasure is the University of Louisville baseball team, nationally ranked and built over the years by many talented players, dedicated support staff a terrific coaching staff led by Dan McDonnell and successive University administrations. The team's fans have the beautiful Jim Patterson Stadium to enjoy watching an extremely talented team play for their University community and fans. Jim Patterson and his wife gave over a million dollars to help make the state-of-the-art stadium a reality. I understand Jim Patterson played baseball when he was a student at U of L and later became a very successful entrepreneur and restaurant chain founder and owner. This is a very nice state-of-the-art college baseball stadium. The whole baseball field is turfgras. the only part on the field that is dirt is the mound. Very nice seating to where you can enjoy the game and be able to see great. It has a outfield burn in left field. And it also has a kids playground presented by steepleton and center field up on the hill behind a baseball park. Very easy to get to also has a grill and dining area out in left field also in the burn area.. the only thing that I don't like right now is the long lines they're terrible. Cuz they're only running one concession stand at a time and like I said it is terrible the lines are so long that you're waiting forever to...
