Great place for fresh produce & good quality meats & fresh seafood! The only problem I have with the meats is usually things are thin sliced, but each store location goes by what the typical clientele prefers. But i have found that if you dont see a particular cut of meat that you are looking for you can ask the "butcher" and most times if they have some in back they will cut it to your satisfaction and weight. You may pay a little more for the produce but the freshness & taste are worth it! Prices have come down on regular groceries & household products & getting more comparable to Wal-Mart & if you watch the sale flyers you can really get some great deals & stock up on things. The store is always clean, the staff has always been friendly and helpful & most times I've been there I've seen the manager out on the floor working just like regular employees to help keep things stocked, neat & assist customers. If you can't find something on the shelf go to customer service counter they will check in back to make sure it's not back there or somewhere else in the store & if not they easily will give you a rain check. They also have a nice floral dept that does custom arrangements on request. During Homecoming, Prom, Valentine's Day, Mothers Day & many more, I have seen tons of custom arrangements being picked up and going out the door. Plus my son as a teenager was always getting arrangements made for his girlfriend lol. The pharmacy dept is always helpful & double checks a new prescription with your regular ones for interactions which I found others such as Wal-Mart and Walgreens didn't do. On a couple meds that I didn't use regularly & had been filled elsewhere with my regular meds previously, different questions had never been asked by a pharmacist nor had I been told of different risks associated with a few of my regular meds. Though at times it was a little annoying waiting extra time for my meds to be filled because they wouldn't fill them if there was a questionable reaction until they explained it to me & I gave my consent & they double checked with my doctor, but I would rather be safe than sorry or worse dead. Their wait time for a prescription is also usually 20 - 30 minutes versus the couple hours at the others. No I don't work for Winn Dixie & I never have but with this store & the one on W. 23rd Street, over the last 10 years my experience has almost always been the same & I'm in the store 3-4 times a week...
Read moreI can not in good conscience recommend using this pharmacy nor will I continue to do so. I take two different milligram doses of the same name of medication. I've had it refilled twice since switching to Winn-Dixie pharmacy and both times they have filled the wrong dose. As a healthcare professional I am very diligent about checking my medication doses but I know many patients don't and had I not I would have been taking double the dose for 90 days! The fact that this has happened to me not once but twice is a huge red flag. On top of that I called in my prescription on Thursday to be filled they said it would be ready the next day, and it was not ready when I came in Monday. Also, if you want to use GoodRx and you tell them at the register they have to reprocess the entire medication they can't just change the price. They make you wait at least 30 or 40 minutes sometimes to get that accomplished. At Publix it literally takes seconds, I'm sure it's a different computer system but it's a very inconvenient one. On another occasion I had four prescriptions I called in to be filled, knowing that it can take more time than quoted to be filled, I called ahead to make sure they were all ready. I was told over the phone my prescriptions were ready for pickup. I did not check the bag before I walked out of the store, when I got to the car and opened it there were only two bottles of pills. Of course when I went back in to ask for the remaining medications, they told me it would be the next day and again upon arriving the next afternoon I had to wait in the store for them to prepare it because it still wasn't ready. If you're a busy person that doesn't check your prescriptions well this is not your pharmacy. I did call to speak with a manager about the medication errors, I was directed to the pharmacist on staff to report...
Read moreWe are new to this area. Really like the clean, local, no fuss, community grocery store. Staff friendly. Easy to find items. My biggest complaint is that I have been asking multiple supervisors and managers on different shifts to please stock only 1 item. They all write it down on scratch pieces of paper, yet I never get any response or results. I am only asking that they please stock vanilla flavor Instant Breakfast Carnation milk packets (not ready to drink bottles). They carry only chocolate. They told me years ago they started to stock that in chocolate for an older man's request years ago and never changed it even though he passed on. I am sincere, compassionate, and understand that. I am only asking to please stock Vanilla flavor along with the chocolate. You see, I am a dedicated ICU RN and need the protein very early in the morning, 5am, to have the energy, endurance, and ability to go without eating until I am able to have a lunch break. Let's be honest, it may never come or not until after 3 or 4 pm. Before any of that takes place early in the morning, I have children to get up and ready for school, too. I would rather have the healthy protein breakfast shake than an energy drink for an example. I do not have the time to sit down and eat breakfast. I work very hard to take excellent care of my patients and their families. I am human, too. I need to care for my body in order to be able to care for others. I have explained this need and why to them. Please, Winn-Dixie of Lynn Haven, or anyone else who may be able to help, please stock this item? It is the only protein breakfast shake my body and taste buds are able to tolerate....
