Travis Jean is more than a gift emporium. It's an experience. Not only do they cater to large gift giving (corp accounts, customized gift basket specialists, just give them your budget and they create and deliver the most incredible gift baskets. You may be ordering 1 basket or 100+ baskets, they will each be created with such care, the recipient is sure to think they're an appreciate individual, not one among masses. ) They have so many local products, from local artisans and never stale selections. I've been going there for years and each time I enter the shop, I find something I missed on a prior visit. Gourmet selections, for quick eats, or if you're gift buying for the gourmet cook, this is the place to go! They've got you covered, children gifts, things to eat wear, use, father's day etc - you name it , they have it. Great price points, cheap - extravagant - You can complete your entire shopping list THERE! Plus, they have an entire gift wrapping department, and the most gorgeous wrappings, free of charge (with purchase). Travis Jean Emporiums is heart and soul of downtown Macon. First Fridays are always special, featuring new art and live music. I have bought several paintings there. They have a great selection of local art. Ok, enough about what all you can BUY there - Let's talk about what you can't buy. You can't buy the warm genuine welcome that you will always receive there. Scott Mitchell, owner and his team, are people with huge hearts. They aren't sucking up for a purchase. You will leave feeling like you've just bumped into old friends. Quite honestly, you can shop anywhere, buy whatever - online. But when you're ready for a unique shopping experience, Travis Jean Emporiums is THE place to shop. Sign up for their newsletter and get instant at check out discounts. I can't remember that stuff, but they do! They always remind me of my discount and show me how much I've saved. Shopping can be such a hassle. Especially during the holidays. Shopping at Travis Jean is more like a different kind of spa experience. Totally...
Read moreIt’s very hard to review the store, according to stars.. When you go into the store, it’s very inviting and there’s lots of cool things to look at like wind chimes, bohemian really cool smaller lights, jewelry, gems, all sorts of really neat things.
No greeting when I walked in the door, no hello while I was in the store and in order to get help, I had to go up to the counter.
They have a lot of Bracelets and stones/gems and it was VERY frustrating for me that the kid that was working there had absolutely no idea what he was talking about.
He couldn’t even explain to me the correct way to use sage that they sell when clensing a home. They had about 6 or so types of Sage- and he knew nithing about them.
He also couldn’t answer several other fairly simple questions.
He didn’t know if they sold copper jewelry. I had to hunt around the store for things because he had no darn idea!
He also did not come from behind the counter to try to see if he could help me find anything I was either looking for or needed more explanation about. He couldn't give me any good recommendations either. It was SO frustrating!
I was passing through Macon on my way back to Atlanta, so it wasn’t like I could come back later. I was in the store for about an hour. It sure would have been a lot less time if I would have gotten more assistance.
I had to make my best judgment on what to buy, but I probably would have spent even more money if I would’ve known what I should have gotten for the reasons why I came in there. I ended up spending more than I actually should have and not feeling confident with anything that I bought. It’s a shame that you go in there and look for help when trying to purchase items and the person who’s representing the store has absolutely no clue what they are talking about. So basically it’s a nice store, but you need to know what you’re looking for when you go in there because the person that works there...
Read moreThe Bohemian Den is such a gem in Macon! The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a vibrant, peaceful energy and a wide variety of unique items. They have everything from crystals, incense, and meditation tools to books, spiritual décor, and meaningful artwork.
The store is thoughtfully organized, making it easy to browse whether you’re looking for something specific like incense or just exploring. I also appreciated the inclusive and welcoming atmosphere; it feels like a safe space for everyone.
If you’re into holistic living, spiritual growth, or just want a beautiful gift for yourself or a friend, this is the place to go. Highly recommend stopping by — you’ll definitely find something...
