We saw the Nutcracker in this theater last weekend and had a heavenly time. We actually booked tickets in September for a Saturday in December. But I completely forgot to go!! I was devastated. The next morning, I raced up to the box office. The only tickets left were third floor box seats. We were told that they weren’t wonderful seats, but we took them anyway. It’s true, they weren’t great, but my kids loved them. At intermission, we spotted some front row seats which also weren’t great, but were better for our backs. Our kids LOVED the show. We have since been entertained with toddler Nutcracker performances. I appreciated how friendly the box office workers and ushers were. There’s no mistaking how beautiful this theater is. It’s clean and well kept and has been preserved...

I'd highly recommend experiencing a musical, ballet or any cultural event here! My mom has special needs and she uses a scooter to be mobile...so before I decided to purchase tickets, I called to see if we could be accommodated. I explained my situation and a very nice lady stated I'd get a call back with a resolution. Chas Pridgen( Director of Patron Services) is an ANGEL truly. We spoke on the phone and he kept me informed by email. He found us the seats that best suited my mom. Everyone was immensely helpful and kind! We attended the Macon/Mercer University Orchestra for Valentine's day! What a beautiful performance!!! This was not my first time there but I had not been back in years. Now mom wants to go more often. No matter where you sit ...the stage is still visible. Thank you...

This is a beautiful venue which we have visited many times for concerts. It was remodeled a couple of years ago but the historic beauty was maintained. The wait to get a cocktail is usually quite long and the window of opportunity to purchase cocktails is short due to brief intermissions. Cups with lids are allowed into the auditorium, however, there are times when they require that you purchase their cups for $15 in order to take your drink in. Currently they are out of cups so it is not required until they restock. The bar service could probably be improved by adding another bar in the corner of the already tight space. Acoustics are good and staff are friendly. The leg space between rows in the orchestra area is small. There is plenty of local...

I have visited here for the nutcracker performance on December 12th, 2021. We sat in the box area. First of all, the house looks and old at the outside. The place shows a lot up sign, and also a screen showing the performances happening at the time you came by. When I walked inside, I noticed that the place is crowded, and everything seems nice and clean. I felt nice and comfortable. The bathrooms are really nice and also clean as well. There are multiple stalls here, which makes things easier when there are a lot of people around. The stage and the audience section itself looks really pretty. Clean, nice, and it was a nice performance.

Surprisingly very nice venue and the prices offer a lot of bang for your buck. The history of the Grand Opera House attracts some great talent. Got a change to see Black Violin in some amazing seats for a bit over $50. The other seats were just over $30. You don't get much say in the specific seats so much as the section but I think it keeps things fair. The fact that the venue is not enormous also means you feel that much closer to the performers. Keep in mind that photography depends on the performers and may be allowed or strictly forbidden. Overall great venue with great prices.
