Bert Maxwell Furniture — Local services in Macon

My husband and I were enjoying the downtown area of Macon. We are in the process of buying new furniture. We came across this establishment and decided to take a look. There was a Caucasian lady sitting at a desk, she looked up at us and did not greet us at all. She had the nastiest expression on her face. She got up from the desk and stood behind something and kept gazing at us like we were dirty. By the way, we were the only customers in this store. When I'm not greeted after a while I felt my business was not needed. I would expect that type of treatment at Walmart where it's thousands of people, not in small town store. She doesn't know what kind of money we were trying to spend but I'll take my business to Ashley furniture. This is 2019 not 1969. Then she waited until we were walking out to ask if we needed any help...SMDH!!! I wish I could have put no stars but you have to put one to...

There is SO much to choose from! Walked in and didn't think we could afford anything after seeing some of the price tags... Someone caught us right before we walked out. Asked what we were looking for, we said we didn't think we could afford them. They kindly told us they have SIX floors of furniture and asked what we were looking for. We needed something that rocked and reclined and plenty of padding. Brought us to a different floor and OMG. YES! So many to choose from unlike ALL the other places we have looked at. So much wasted time! I wish I had come here first. They had lazy boys that were out of our price, but so many that were perfect or even under what we were looking at! Don't go anywhere else! Kind people, not pushy in the least bit, family owned, mostly American made. My only complaint? Why couldn't we have found them sooner!?! Oh and free parking outback!...

We have been furniture shopping for a couple months. We were confused and undecided and the longer we looked the worse it got. On a whim we popped in Burt Maxwell. We were greeted immediately. We explained what we were looking for and although they didn’t have it on the floor, we were shown comparable pieces. We looked at a lot and we asked SO MANY questions. We were able to custom order exactly what we wanted. The price was very competitive! I would definitely recommend Bert...
