I loved the nostalgia of the theater and the friendliness of its patrons. There was quite a bit of history on display in this historic theatre. I would have given the theatre a five rating; except for their having failed to prepare a small inexpensive/temporary seating area near the entrance doors for their physically challenged senior patrons. I watched as they stood with canes and walkers leaning against the building waiting for the treated to open its doors. The line at the locked main entrance door was long and the theatre would later be packed with patrons to see the limited showing of the documentary "Amazing Grace". Of course the problem was exacerbated by a locked entrance door and starting late. Finally, a couple of other patrons knocked on the glass entrance doors and addressed the issue; and the disabled seniors were permitted entrance early; but mind you, the usher monitoring the door noticed these senior handicapped patrons early on and was not forthcoming in offering them any assistance...I certainly hope theatre management take note of...

I had a phenomenal experience at the Douglass Theatre in Macon, Ga this past Saturday. I attended the wonderfully written production of ‘If You Loved Me.’ The play was exactly what I needed and I found myself relating to many of the characters! The cast was super talented and passionate about their craft! The staff at the theatre are always warm and welcoming and online ticket purchasing was extremely user friendly! Parking was hassle free and the popcorn was delicious! I highly recommend giving this history filled establishment a visit! You won’t be...

I love the Douglas because they have entertainment fit for Seniors. I grew up going to the Douglas theatre to watch movies. I am so thankful for the many activities structured for people over 50 yrs of age. Our kind of movies, music, plays and a place to hold family functions. Even the AARP have stepped in to provide pertinent information to help keep seniors informed about important life matters and it's all at the Douglas. Thank you so much for keeping the historical Douglas a place in Macon's...

Nice space for a small to medium sized gathering. Enough space for a buffet or plated dinner served per guest. Seating is adequate for dining and dancing if it's set appropriately. Parking is scarce so plan to walk if you're not parking up front. There is a parking deck that looks pretty secure and nicely lite for those not parking upfront for loading and unloading of guests and or catering. Overall, a really good space. Oh, and the attendant at the facility is very helpful with setup. Luis did a superb job.

Went to see a play here on Nov. 6th called Lover's and Friends and it was hilarious. Also very entertaining in general. Nice Theatre felt very authentic to its history with nice updates to the restrooms. Overall I enjoyed the atmosphere and the play was by The Silas Agency. They did a phenomenal job...the entire cast. 👏🏾 Bravo

Everyone should take the time to visit this beautifully restored theatre. Find an event at this place and go. It is worth the price of the ticket just to see the interior. There is a multilevel parking garage beside the theatre. Restaurants are within walking distance over on Cherry Street.
