I loved the nostalgia of the theater and the friendliness of its patrons. There was quite a bit of history on display in this historic theatre. I would have given the theatre a five rating; except for their having failed to prepare a small inexpensive/temporary seating area near the entrance doors for their physically challenged senior patrons. I watched as they stood with canes and walkers leaning against the building waiting for the treated to open its doors. The line at the locked main entrance door was long and the theatre would later be packed with patrons to see the limited showing of the documentary "Amazing Grace". Of course the problem was exacerbated by a locked entrance door and starting late. Finally, a couple of other patrons knocked on the glass entrance doors and addressed the issue; and the disabled seniors were permitted entrance early; but mind you, the usher monitoring the door noticed these senior handicapped patrons early on and was not forthcoming in offering them any assistance...I certainly hope theatre management take note of...

I attended the wonderfully written production of ‘If You Loved Me.’ The play was exactly what I needed and I found myself relating to many of the characters! The cast was super talented and passionate about their craft! The staff at the theatre are always warm and welcoming and online ticket purchasing was extremely user friendly! Read moreI love the Douglas because they have entertainment fit for Seniors. I grew up going to the Douglas theatre to watch movies. I am so thankful for the many activities structured for people over 50 yrs of age. Our kind of movies, music, plays and a place to hold family functions. Even the AARP have stepped in to provide pertinent information to help keep seniors informed about important life matters and it's all at the Douglas.
