Excellent (and I absolutely DO mean "excellent") customer service throughout the store in every department I visited. The staff is friendly and helpful and courteous. The dressing rooms are what dressing rooms should be: spacious, inviting, private, and the perfect lighting. They have wonderful sales, but the sale areas don't feel overly crowded with clothing, you can browse comfortably. I love the layout of this store - it flows well, displays are lovely (and they give me great ideas), and checking out at the registers is a breeze. I've been to this store three times, and I already use their app to find what is on sale, get coupons, and use the scanner to know the lowest price on an item (before coupons, of course).
And if you've read this far, here is a confession: I have avoided Belk for a long time. While Texas has been my home now for over 20 years, I'm originally from NC and grew up with Belk the first 30 years of my life. Going to Belk, when I was a kid, was a special shopping trip, and it was usually for an Easter dress or prom dress. I also worked for Belk Stores Services when I was in my early 20s. For me, Belk used to mean high quality and overpriced and snooty (if I'm honest). I visited this Belk, for the first time, only because my 30 year old daughter wanted me to try it with her because she got a gift card from someone. And what we found? It really impressed both of us! (My daughter is a graphic designer - and picky - and it takes a lot to impress her. Lol.)
I mean, honestly, what's not to love? It's a beautiful store with fabulous customer service AND great prices. It's our new "go to" store. I've never been a person who enjoys shopping in stores, but Belk makes my experience enjoyable and stress-free. In fact, I'm going back today to find a purse (they're on sale, you know. Get the app, you'll see.)
And Belk? I want to apologize for avoiding you previously. I just have to say, this isn't the store I grew up with. You're better, much better. You are still beautiful, but SO much more! You are the whole package! I love the new slogan: "Modern. Southern. Stylish." You absolutely are...and more. Well done, Belk. Well done.

I called belk.com, they said they cannot cancel my order. The item that was in stock on 12/13 is not back ordered and they are not able to cancel or refund back ordered items until they are back in stock. She stated that I would need to call the store for further assistance, I told her I was unable to get them to answer, so now I have to drive up to the store or wait for a childs Christmas sweater to be delivered whenever it is back in stock... which could be January. This is such a nightmare. I will never shop at Belk again. poor customer service. I tried online chat as well, and when I asked to speak to a manager, the service agent "Oscar"...
Read moreThe Clinique salesperson was so rude and unprofessional. She was assisting me with a purchase from the Lancome makeup counter. In the middle of my purchase, she dropped me without a word. She left me standing there without any notice and walked back to the Clinique counter to assist a customer with a makeup color. I have never experienced this type of treatment. I felt like she was more worried about her "Clinique sales" and snobbish. I was left standing there with my intended purchase laying behind the counter next to the register. Eventually, another salesperson came over and finished my transaction. I voiced my dissatisfaction to this salesperson but felt like it was on dead ears! The regular Lancome sales person, Evonne, was off work that day. I will not be going back unless Evonne is working at the...
