First thing first, the food at Maple Street was good! My husband and I ordered the Squawking Goat, the Farmer, and fried green tomatoes to share. The squawking goat had a great combo of goat cheese and red pepper jelly, although I felt like the biscuit was drowning in the red pepper jelly.. a drizzle would have been just the perfect amount. The farmer was a very tasty and unique rendition of a chicken biscuit. Fried green tomatoes were cut too thick as they were barely cooked inside and the tomatoes themselves were crunchy. The batter was good though.
NOW THE REST… this restaurant is very new, so we write this review with that in mind, and we know there are kinks to work out. We came at a very busy time on Sunday. 20-30 people in line with only one of two cashiers taking orders. The staff here were very young and inexperienced. When we were served, we were given DIRTY silverware with food chunks on it. The restaurant had clearly not been swept in a while. Food was served on a tray covered in spills. Some staff not being helpful at ALL.
Overall, the food was good. But when you add the unattractive dining space, unwelcoming staff, and factor in the egregious prices… we likely will not...
Read moreI decided to stop here on lunch break because I work in the delivery business and I was looking forward to a great breakfast bowl so I got there fajita bowl that is advertised in Front register when she rang me up for the fajita bowl it totaled out to be $14 and some change. I was so ready because I thought it was going to be a great fajita bowl when I received it. I only received maybe six tiny pieces that equal up to half of a piece of full fajita Maybe not even half! I received seven small diced potatoes mixed with corn and some shredded cheese And six slices of “Caramelized” Mushroom.. If you eat the bowl with a spoon, you can literally finish it in 5 to 6 bites! This place is a total rip off one single biscuit is $11! That’s not including drink and sides! One biscuit a side of bacon and a drink will probably equal up to $15-$16 dollars now to move onto the taste of the food it wasn’t even near delicious. It tastes almost as if you got a instant breakfast from the frozen food section. Service was all right. Clean bathrooms by the way, but you are better off going to chipotle for a bowl or McDonald’s Or Bojangles for biscuits this place is literally nothing special. It just has...
Read moreThis is hands down the worst breakfast I have ever had. How do you mess up a biscuit so horribly when you are a biscuit company? It was way overpriced. We spent $70 and $50 of it went in the trash. My teen son ate his chicken and waffles but complained about it being dry, flavorless, and burnt. I had a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. It had one bite of bacon, literally one bite. The biscuit was dry like sand and stuck in my throat. It was also burnt. The egg was burnt and it had a large chunk of eggshell. So much so that it was all stuck in my teeth and felt like I had chewed a piece glass. And the food had zero flavor. My daughter's mini cinnamon biscuits were rock hard and you are supposed to get 3. She got 2 and 1/4. The gravy was so thick that the spoon stayed standing upright with only about half of the tip in it. It was the consistency of cottage cheese. Service was meh, she wasn't friendly or helpful at all but also wasn't overly rude. We tried feeding some of the food to my 4 large dogs but even they would only eat the bacon. They will usually eat anything. I would rather eat undercooked powdered scrambled...
