I observed that during the recent renovations at the Lawrence Park Shopping Center in Broomall, many of the wheelchair and ADA curb cuts and ramps were removed, but few were replaced. Although I use a motorized wheelchair, some of the shops and vendors may be further away for individuals who need manual wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, or other mobility aids. Code enforcement in Marple Twp. must check to verify if ADA regulations are being followed!

They're not a bad shopping center at all. I like Mrs. Marty's. They have good food. The one thing that I really wish is that someone could do something about is the Barnes & Noble bookstore. I love Barnes & Noble, but I have to drive out all of the way out to the Devon one because there isn't one around here that has a cafe where you get something to eat and drink and sit in other areas besides the cafe if you just want to sit and read. The one in Lawrence Park doesn't have room to expand and I only go in there three, maybe four times a year, if there's something that I really need or want to buy and getting to Devon's impossible. But I really would prefer to stay...

What can I say about Lawrence Park Shopping Center? I don't get there as often as I used to, but as a child this was the hangout spot! These days, I usually find myself there when I'm running into the Acme for something or maybe the CVS in the parking lot. They still have a lot of good stores, but they're nothing like they were back in the 60s and 70s when they had a movie theater and a bowling alley and we would all be chased by the cops daily. For some reason they didn't like us hanging out there, though there was nothing else to do in the town for us young kids. We were known as the LP...

Speaking of the entire shopping area, it's decent enough, but for some reason there just doesn't seem to be enough parking for the stores in the area. One of the biggest problems is the lazy louts who don't like to park too far from their stores and park in operating lanes and against curbs, fire zones, and pedestrian areas, inhibiting traffic and making it difficult to navigate, and why these people feel more privileged than anyone else I will never know. Not really a fault of the shopping area, but just the insolence of some people who really don't care about anyone else...
