Westside Park and Field — Attraction in McAllen

Id been coming here for a while to watch friends and family and my partner play softball and never really had an issue until recently. My partner and I brought my dog to watch his dad play softball. My partner said it was okay as he had seen pit bulls there before. We were allowed entry by the security guard but a woman who didn’t give us a name didn’t allow to sit or stay bc of my small dog who was on leash. Very well maintained park with a variety of amenities. Four baseball fields and a few soccer fields are available. The park has a road that runs in a loop. Several covered pavilions are available for reservations. Also at the park are several play grounds for younger kids. Plenty of shade trees and a restroom on the north end. West side park hasn't changed much thru out the years, though the park is clean and well maintained, It could use some extra swings or jungle gym equipment. it has the extra space for them to take the opportunity to expand the play aspect of the park.
