First - I hope Mr. Dieterich finds some help. He’s obviously going through it…The McMinnville library is AWESOME!!
I’m a life long library lover and Mac is one of my favorites. My family and I have been coming for generations now.
In addition to the books there and via the cooperative, there is a wonderful children’s section and plenty of quiet spaces to read. Lots of computers to use and they always have events and programs listed in the lobby.
The Library of Things is a game changer! I’ve used the air tester, power meter, air pump, guitar, tools, a birdwatching kit and many more.
My wife likes to check out puzzles and we always find new board games to try. My kids are always finding new music and graphic novels they enjoy.
On the negative side - I’ve witnessed several instances involving obvious mental health and/or addiction issues. This is normal for most “city” libraries, but it can put a damper on your experience.
Also, I wish they were open more (hours, days). I get that staffing and the issues listed above affect hours of operation, but it would be nice if it was open longer on the weekends and Mondays.
Thanks for everything...
Read moreMcMinnville Library is a fun and engaging place that offers plenty of socially adaptive opportunities to enjoy reading and all kinds of sharing. I can check out books and also things, get information and home delivery. So much good stuff.
I wish they were open on Monday's. Thank you to the staff who work hard in a quiet way. Every time I visit the library it is a pleasant experience.
The wooded area with a surrounding park and swimming pool nearby make it even more delightful. I also like the sculptures. There appear to be services set up outside for people who need humanitarian outreach. Helping the disadvantaged makes a community safer and stronger.
When I stopped by Sunday they had coffee set up outside under a canopy for people who were roughing it on the street. Glad to know they could get out of the rain in such a...
Read moreWhen I lived in McMinnville between the years of 2014-16, I pretty much made my home in the library (just kidding...kinda). They have an excellent dvd selection (although I never checked any out, the covers were pretty cool). I basically used the computers to play games on when I wasn't walking around on your streets there. Also they have a really good selection of magazines, and newspapers. But what I really liked, was a few of the workers there. Namely; Alice, Courtney, and Diane. Thank you very much for all the help you provided me. So...
