Atticus Hotel — Hotel in McMinnville

Had a 2 night stay at The Atticus while on vacation and found it to be a mixed bag. Attention to detail was SORELY lacking for a hotel at this price point such that I would not recommend staying here. Definitely not worth it.

Plus: Beautiful decor both in rooms and lobby...I want whoever did this hotel to work on my house! Great location right in the middle of downtown McMinnville with tons of stuff nearby Was greeted with sparkling wine upon check-in Complimentary espresso drinks were perfectly prepared and a nice bonus Cool history and associated documentation

Minus: During my first shower, I noticed the body wash was empty and had not been refilled. Unacceptable to not have been checked during room preparation. Not sure where it was coming from, but I could hear TONS of foot traffic above our room. Either our upstairs neighbors were jumping around a lot or the building design carries sound from other areas (hallways? stairways?) Thermostat struggles to reach its target temp while set to AC No parking other than paid valet, which is annoying Shower does not have a door, which is something that always bugs me Big stain on carpet of our room near entrance, nicks on wall paint did not make the room feel as premium as it otherwise would have Bathroom does not have an exhaust fan and steams up during showers Wine glasses were not washed/replaced during daily housekeeping which was unacceptable Pillows not great (not nearly...

I loooooved how curated this hotel was. Every single little detail was custom, local, and really really cool. I noticed all of it! My husband really enjoyed the bath products and I loved the books and fireplace.

We were next to the maid’s supply room which was great (no neighbors on one side), but we could still somehow hear a LOT through the vents? Sneezing, coughing, flushing toilets, and conversations could all be heard in detail. Street noise was present enough to keep us awake for a bit even though we were on the top floor. There was also a wasp in our bathroom which was pretty unsettling, and my husband was disappointed to find the coffee cup he went to use was definitely used by a previous guest and not cleaned.

After a relaxing morning we were very rushed to leave by staff, which just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. After packing our bags we asked for coffees around 10:30am (checkout is @11), and the person at the desk was pushy about taking our keys even though we still needed to grab our things. Then at 11 on the dot, as we’re going to the elevator, we get a phone call rushing us out of the room. We were compliant and followed the rules but I almost felt like we were doing something wrong.

Our stay was nice overall but I left feeling kinda “meh” about it. For a place that paid so much attention to detail in it’s design, it was definitely lacking in the little (important) things when it comes to...
