Breaks my heart to leave this review. Pro-tip: when the scatterbrained waitress asks you if it's okay that she accidentally ordered you sausage links instead of patties, do not say it's okay. Make them make you the patties.

My spouse and I have been regular customers for years and have never had any issues, we love Wildwood so much that we decided to go treat ourselves to breakfast for our 5-year wedding anniversary this morning before we each went to work. Besides the service being sub-par and noticeably declining over the years, the food absolutely ruined my anniversary. My spouse had a lunch entree for breakfast and was fine. A few hours after I got to work, however, I started experiencing the worst stomach cramps of my life and am now fighting for my life on the toilet having had to miss a day of work due to my puking/diarrhea and also cancelling evening anniversary plans. It is clearly not Wildwood's fault that this happened to happen on my anniversary, but I am pissed I'm missing a day of work and pay.

Update: I've removed allusion to rumors that are thus far unsubstantiated. However, I do have to respond to the assertion that its unusual for food poisoning to show symptoms within a few hours. No it's not, lol. Symptoms can develop as quickly as within 30 minutes up to 8 hours, it depends on the severity of the foodborne illness/type of bacteria. Unfortunately what I experienced was confirmed to have been food poisoning, I won't be...

UPDATE The manager quickly resolved the problem by issuing a refund. This is highly appreciated and hopefully we can try again in the future to dine in.

ORIGINAL Made a mistake and ordered online for here instead of the Willamina location. Totally my mistake, I get that. I call this restaurant in McMinville to ask to cancel my order and the lady on the phone was extremely unhelpful. She said she’d call her boss when she had time. My issue is, I had to make a 30 minute drive to go get the order, so if I waited for her to call her boss my food would have been even more cold than I already had to eat it. They didn’t care enough to put the food under a heater, left our milkshake out on the counter so it was completely melted. Then when we just asked for fresh fries and a milkshake we were met with rudeness. Like I said, I’m aware this was my fault, but all I expected was at least a little help and understanding. Maybe next time you can offer to see about a cancellation, and if that’s not possible, offer to remake the order so I don’t have to eat food that’s been sitting for an hour. Definitely won’t be back based on the incompetence of the staff. Only 2 stars because the chicken on my...

I would rate this a 1 star, but the service was not bad, the lady was swamped and doing her best. So she brings it up a star. The homemade bread was also good.

However, If you are seeking a place with flexibility and nutritious options, this is not the place. If you are looking for a basic eggs and bacon restaurant with good bread, sure they'll meet that. But I asked to modify my meal instead of deep frying cook on the stove top. I was told no and their were no other options suggested. It is what it is and I won't revisit.

What made it worse however were the several flies, gnats and fruit flies. I felt like we were eating near a swamp. The person I came with works in the service industry and he's a very sympathetic understanding person. He at one point said, "I've never wanted to leave a restaurant before, but if I have to swat at another bug trying to protect my food I may leave." I apologized to him and we won't be back. Maybe it was a bad bug day? In November? But the combination with the lack of flexibility for food and the bugs will cause us...

This place is the most authentic, real dinner you will ever have the pleasure of going to. I unfortunately have had the pleasure of going here once since I do not live in the area. If I did, this would be a daily activity. Would prolly need to get a third job, but it would be worth it to afford my three squares here lol. Not only is there coffee everything you would expect or want, everyone is so kind, respectful, personable. That is so hard to find these days! But here French Toast is TO DIE FOR! Please don’t wait, go there NOW! Do it, don’t think, just go! You will thank me for it latter I promise. I am very bias with my food, I expect a lot when I pay with my hard earned money at any establishment and excellence is what I need, at Wildwood Cafe? I received! My five stars will only be handed out to the very few. Again, all I will say is, go there... Get seated, order yourself a coffee and French toast... I mean everything is perfect ok there menu so really order what ever you want and take it all in!

Cute little cafe in downtown McMinnville. Greeted promptly and told to sit anywhere on entry. I loved the kitschy decor, bright and colorful interior and all the antique advertising signage. I immediately ordered coffee which was on the table very quickly and offered refills before my cup was empty. We ordered a Mother Lode plate - which included biscuits and gravy sausage links, bacon, eggs, breakfast potatoes and a thick slice of toast - a veggie omelette and a slice of their Wildwood French toast to share. Food came out quickly and everything was hot, fresh and delicious. My companion's hot chocolate was fantastic and came out with whipped cream and sprinkles in a giant mug. Service was amazing. Server was right on top of everything, but not in the way. All and all an awesome experience and I'd definitely go back again.

The reviews speak for themselves, really. The place is excellent. The service, the menu, to the quality of food you get. It's a cafe diner that hasn't changed and the atmosphere is intact with something that could be felt in the 50s and 60s, I'm sure. The staff is very pleasant and though it got busy, there was absolutely no signs of frustration or attitude. I can appreciate that. The portions were perfect. A lot of breakfast places make up for their quality by going heavy on the portions, and while Wildwood Cafe has larger portions, its realistic for one person or two (depending on how hungry you are). The potatoes on the side are perfection. They best the sloppiness of average hash browns and you can taste the quality. Before you leave, grab some fresh homemade jam from the counter. Super delicious marionberry!
