Ordered a box of used history books from Third Street Books. Received it in a couple days after ordering them. Was kind of surprised on how small the box of used history books turned out to be. And somewhat surprised to find there was only five books, a postcard, and bookmarks. And a little space. The books were Frederick Douglass - Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, Born To Be Hanged, Thomas Jefferson And The Tripoli Pirates, On The Map, and On This Day In History Sh t Happened, Now, the last was a 'advance uncorrected proof' - it isn't for sale. Also On The Map was classified on the back as a Reference book not a history book. Still, the books are covering topics I am interested in, were well protected and in great condition. The problem is they cost me $40. Shipping and handling adds another $20. And on Amazon they cost, all five, a total of $20 dollars and 35 cents if you get them used. That is if you add up the lowest cost of all five used books at the time of this review. You could try to say that those used books would have been in horrible condition but having gotten used books from Amazon before I can say that they have always been in very good or fair condition,. Of course that cost is not including shipping and handling. So...mabe 30 dollars tops. Once again, well portected, interesting titles, no problem with what I got. Just have issues with how much the 'used' books cost.

With wooden creaky floors and little hidden spots to read, Third Street Books is a Mcminnville treasure. I've been going here for years. And now I bring my nieces who love to read. They have a great selection of books and trinkets. You know the kind that you only find in tiny little bookshops. If you're any kind of romantic about books, this is the shop to run into on a rainy Oregon afternoon. Grab a cup of coffee first because you might find yourself getting lost in here for hours.

Bookstores are places of pilgrimage for me. Third Street books has been in business for a long time, and according to the very helpful staff person, it has been under present ownership for around 20 years. My photos show the diversity of the offerings. It has a good feel to it, and would be fine place to drop in while you are enjoying downtown McMinnville.

I have NEVER been so disrespected in my life. This morning my friend and I walk in to look at some mommy books as we're both expecting littles in the next couple of months. I'm probably in here weekly as I work just down the street and have spent quite a bit of money in said location. I have never once had a problem untill today when one of there staff started belittling me over the fact I wasn't wearing my mask properly in there book. Medically I have to wear my mask under my nose as it's put me into the hospital on multiple occasions due to having Hyperemesis gravidarum. A extram form of morning sickness. I understand commenting and asking people to comply to the mask mandate if they are infact maskless, but putting a person down in front of a full store because it's not covering your nose for medical reasons Is simply NOT okay. I recommend this location alot, but will never...

Third Street Books is one of my all-time favorite book stores! I have been a patron for years because of the knowledgeable and friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and superior collection. With an account, you can collect rewards points towards discounts on future purchases. Their website allows you to order almost any book you can think of to be picked up in store (for no extra charge!) or to be shipped directly to you. They sell used books at reasonable prices, marked with a small red dot on the spine so you can easily tell where the best deals are. Even if I could find better prices at a chain store or online, I always prefer to shop locally and support this...
