Where to begin... First off host asked us if we were ready to order, said yes, then waiting at least 5 minutes for server to finally show up. Ordered skirt steak ( medium rare)with truffle potatoes, cauliflower. Gringa al pastor, and mini trompo. Food took at least 45 minutes to show up. No sign of anyone after we ordered , to say food was coming or anything. Food shows up, the gringa was burnt. Trompo was barely half the size of the picture from the menu, we even asked if it was enough food for 2 people ($35) skirt steak with truffle potatoes was delivered as a ribeye with crinkle fries. I asked the server about the skirt, and she didn't seem to know that it wasn't a skirt and was ribeye. She did ask if we wanted to return it but with food taking so long I had no hope of getting anything else in a timely manner. Cauliflower didn't come with the rest of our dinner so asked about it. 10 minutes later, the softest overcooked flavorless plate of cauliflower showed up. Was supposed to have a chile mayonnaise and cotija cheese on it. Nothing of the sort. Started eating the steak and it was completely overcooked, dry, and no flavor. When I asked about the truffle potatoes, she said that they told her that they were out, but didn't pass that information on to us. Clearly frustrated, she did offer to comp the steak. We also mentioned that our gringa was burnt and somehow they made a new one in about 2 minutes. No plates were given when our food arrived. Asked the back waiter for plates and showed up with cup saucers. Overall pretty much a disaster, the small amount of trompo pastor meat was tasty, and the red salsa. WILL NOT...
Read moreWent in earlier this week because I saw a specific honey, Arugula, goat cheese panini on their menu and had been looking for one for a while. Walked in and ordered and the waitress (super nice) acted like she had never heard of one before and like I was crazy. Then when I pulled up your own website to show her (its still there) she said "oh that was seasonal and we don't have it anymore." Cool so you did know what it was and decided to gaslight me instead awesome.
I opted to order the Avocado toast with no tomatoes and she offered to put goat cheese on it for me since I was disappointed.
What arrived was the dryest, plainest Avocado toast I've ever seen that still had Arugala and goat cheese on it...surely they had honey in the back and could have just made me the sandwich I wanted? And this is coming from someone who eats plain bread and avacados all the time.
Anyway I choked down a few bites and left.
I'm sure I'll come back eventually to try a drink or something but...that was a very unfortunate...
Read moreThe positives: Staff is friendly and the place has a fun atmosphere. The negatives: staff was unfamiliar with the menu âwhat is the Parrillada de la Milpa?â. That item came with just a plate of grilled veggiesâŠ.thats it. For $21. No rice rice on the side. No dip. Just fajita veggies essentially. One of the weirdest menu items Iâve ever seen served. Had to ask for their chipotle aioli, which they brought promptly and is delicious. Just a weird overpriced menu item. My partner went there a previous time with a friend, and the item they ordered both times had completely different items in it like toast 1st time, no toast second time and added jalapeños the second time. I want this place to succeed, but will wait it out awhile to give it another chance to get their quality control and consistency better. And revise their fajita veggies to be more than some thrown in the oven roasted veggies all by themself dry. Please get better, you have a lot...
