I must say that the service was great until we had a very unwelcoming interaction with the owner of this establishment. A group of 7 women, 3 couples and one single sitting at a bar type table in the center of the dining floor. The place was not full at all, there were plenty of empty tables at the time of this event. The OWNER approached our table, asking that one of our guests replace a chair that she had swapped with one of the empty tables, neglecting to say anything to 2 other guests that had done the same thing. The chair was replaced and we continued our evening. After we had been there for at least 2 hours, eaten and had drinks, another waitress approaches the table to request that the other two guests replace the chairs they had been sitting in for the duration of the visit. As she started to move to do as she was asked, the OWNER approaches our table with a very disrespectful tone, telling her â Not to ignore herâ, the waitress. When she stated that she was moving, he continued to bagger her as if she was not complying with the request. Once that spat was quelled, we were having a conversation with our waitress, asking what the Ownerâs name was so that we could follow the correct protocol of reporting and reviews. He, the OWNER, then approaches another of our guests as if he was about to fight a man. Raising his voice and not allowing her to speak. This was the most outrageous display of disrespect I have ever experienced. I hate to say, but we were singled out, in my opinion because we identify with the LGBTQ community. We did not come to cause trouble, we only came to enjoy ourselves me just as all the other straight patrons did. But we were met with the utmost level of disrespect. That will be my last visit. If you care about these kinds of issues, I suggest you not...
Read moreI visited Manhattan Lounge for the first time yesterday, October 16, 2021 and I was taken back by the cover charge which was as follows: $20 for women and $25 for men. The issue with the cover charge is the simply fact that it is not posted on the IG page, website or Facebook page. So, when you get to the door and you are quoted $65 for 3 people you are more than likely going to pay because you got dressed and made the trip to the establishment. The cover charge should be available on all social media outlets so the customer is aware. Second incident of the night: I was served old flat wine. I informed my server who was wonderful but the bartender served the same flat wine to my brother and I two times. The server asked the bartender to open a new bottle and clearly she didnât. I expressed to the wonderful server if she could inform the manager of these concerns and she did but the manager/owner didnât bother to stop by our table. I explained to the server as a first time visitor this will be my last visit because of the apathy of this establishment. How dare you serve a customer who has paid a total of $65 for 3 people to enter flat wine twice. I am assume the manager/owner was the gentleman in the suit. The manager nor the owner came over to offer an apology or proper service. However, the manager/owner did greet and welcome other guests throughout the night which I observed. Customer service, empathy and professionalism is definitely missing in the restaurant...
Read moreOur recent visit to this Black-owned establishment was unfortunately disappointing compared to our first experience, which had been excellent. We had a confirmed reservation from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM and ordered food and drinks throughout our entire stay. However, the entertainment began an hour late, despite a $20 cover charge that offered little value.
The service was subparâboth the manager, greeter (hostess), and waitress failed to provide a welcoming or professional atmosphere. At one point, the greeter approached our table to comment that we had been âholding the table all nightâ and that our table âwasnât full,â despite having five guests actively dining and ordering food and drinks. It was suggested, in so many words, that we should give up part of our reserved seating, even though we had met all reservation requirements.
Additionally, the environment was uncomfortable, with nearby parties exceeding their table capacities without apparent concern from staff. The entertainment featured excessive profanity rather than the quality performance we anticipated.
The owner, however, was very sweet and personable, which made the experience slightly better. Unfortunately, the overall service and atmosphere will likely prevent us from returning...
