More kid/family friendly, like learn heritage dance, dress up and take pictures, kid horseshoe toss, kid auction of soda, chips and snack and stuff kids like, young chefs volunteer to show off their signature dish with audience grade sampling, vender fashion show, design a quit square then get the squares sewn into a beautiful quilt for Juneteenth 2023 and have a silent auction and announcement the winner at the park. Read moreThe picture that shows up on my phone of this park has the old Nathan Bedford Forest statue which has since been taken down.
Forest and his wife were buried underneath the statue and their graves have now been moved.
But you can see where the statue was and is now surrounded by black lives matter murals on the sidewalk.
So I guess that makes the park worth visiting.
It's in the Medical District so if you're visiting someone in the hospital and need to get out of there for a while this would be a decent...
Read more901 Day was cool. it was nice in the park. Courtney Little sand and there was a D.J. They had about 3-4 food trucks but one only had snow cones or slushes. A few vendors were there. It was a good turnout. It would have been better if it was more trucks cause many were in lunch breaks and since it was only two or three trucks with food the lines were extremely long and you had to wait for it to be prepared.
