This is the second time that I have attempted to give this establishment my money, because I want nothing more for the Fontaine house than the continuation and furtherance of this house and preservation of all historic districts… but you were never open when you SAY you are. It’s not difficult to change your hours of operation. Nowhere on Google does it say you were closed today yet you were nowhere to be found and he would not answer the phone. I drove quite a way to bring a friend here from out of town who would love to see this house, but now he will get to go home without ever having seen anything but the outside because you are never open when you say you will be. Secondly, the state of the children play houses outside is absolutely abhorrent. Why the second child house is being used as a storeroom I do not know. When I was a little girl, my seventh birthday party was actually held in that playhouse and now it’s just sitting with junk inside for over a year now. I hope you fix these things quickly and actually put the care love and tending to back into this property as it used to be. This property is beautiful and must...
Read moreGorgeous! One can go on a self guided or group tour. Currently the theme is about "Mourning" perhaps it is because we are near Halloween, or just a learning experience. Therefore the house is having a "Victorian Funeral", teaching the customs of that Victorian Era of how a widow would & family would respond when their is a death to a family member. From family customs to social customs to morning fashion. It was not grimm, but very educational. The details in the home, from the architect to the interior decor to the grounds, all are stunning. If you love this era, and enjoy historical sites, this is a must see. Give yourself 2-2.5 hours to enjoy. Then grab the walking tour guide for the neighborhood of beautiful homes, or drive it as well. This would be boring for children under the age if 10, & great even if you were a party if one, like me. Hope...
