Is there a way to give 0 stars? Here is part of a letter I wrote to the Port Authority and Norwegian Cruise Lines:
It was on our return that things got out of hand. After having to drag all of our bags from the luggage area with no assistance, I left my husband in the electric wheelchair with all of the bags exactly where I'd dropped him off several days before, and went to get the car. I had no idea how to loop back to get him, but finally figured that out (after paying the ridiculous $20 / day parking fee). However, I did not realize that there were "Arrival" and a "Departure" lanes. You are not an airport, so it is not necessary to do this. On a cruise people are usually arriving or departing, but never at the same time. When I drove back to get my husband, I was apparently in the "Departure" lane. This should not have been a problem as there were very few other cars there, since the ship was still offloading. When I tried to pull up to the curb (where there was plenty of room), a rude porter told me I could not pull over there. I told him I was picking up the guy in the wheelchair. He continued to inform me, quite loudly and rudely, that I could not park there, and insisted there was no one in a wheelchair. I told him "you don't make it very convenient for people with disabilities", at which point he replied "What if you are inconveniencing me?" Really? At this point I was trying to ask the other porters if they could see my husband, when one of them told me to pull over to the other side of the road. I did and got out of the car to find my husband. When I found him, I told him that I was being yelled at by the porter at which time a kind woman sitting near him offered to help get our bags across the...
Read moreI don't understand why the check in process on a cruise seems so complex. You can expect to wait in line for quite some time. Our check in process took us about 2 hours. We also went to the cruise very early.
The facility is clean, someone air-conditioned in the lower level, but the restrooms are very clean. I guess this is nice for a public facility. I wish the design was a little bit better they handle the long lines that you will encounter. If you have small children you may want to charge up your phone or iPad so they will have something to do while you...
Read moreThe port was very clean .. the porters were friendly and even though tipping is optional I strongly recommend it. The taxi line moved very fast and they helped me requesting a van. Even the cops are helpful and approachable. The terminals lines ran smooth. On a previous review there were complains about parking fees, but $20a day seems reasonable since you are parking inside the port. I had to pay $15 a day in a garage by downtown and my car was dented. Overall a very...
