$$$Money money money$$$... I had always been curious about that place located close to the office. Yesterday as I had 30 minutes to kill before diner with a friend and needed a foot massage so I gave it a try. Quick look at the reviews, awesome, I pushed the door with reasonable expectations: test the service, pamper myself during 30 minutes for 30$, budget would be 36$ in total. I was immediately suggested a 1 hour combo which I politely refused 3 times, insisting on the fact that I didn't have much time and that I'd be glad ro come back as I work close by. The employees had a quick chat in their own language I am not able to understand, and the message began... by the neck and shoulder. I quickly interrupted it and made sure they understood my request: 30 min. foot massage. I received a confusing explanation and finally got my feet massaged...yeahhh!! eyes covered, very strong pressure (not for everyone... can be painful but I can take it personally). I felt it was taking long and thought they had decided to offer me 10 min extra for my 1st visit (I was the only customer in the large massage room). I really thought that bearing the 30$ price tag in mind, I should definitely come back often for feet and body massage.
Well... at the end, they massaged me during 55 minutes, instead of the contacted 30 minutes. They charged 40 $ instead of the 30$ expected. They justified it by the 1 Hour service...
The lady asked me about how much I wanted to tip. As they had not respected the contract (30 min), which I had made clear in several occasions, I decided to Tip 15% instead of the 20% I had initially thought of. Her answer was quite surprising: "No, it's 20% not 15%". Interesting... They ask but charge whatever they decide. I guess it is her notion of customer satisfaction and ethics.
I indeed paid 8$ service fee instead of the 6 expected (my initial budget was 36$ total).
Reviewing the check, I realized they were adding 1$ fee... due to payment by credit card. Not advertised before... but okay, fair enough. There is indeed a notification on the wall that I challenge you to find/ read by yourself... those little letters in the contracts you know what I mean...
PROS: Place is okay, pretty clean, decent Massage.
CONS: Staff don't listen to your needs and do whatever they have in mind... and will charge you accordingly :-/
I ended paying 49$ instead of my 36$ initial budget. Plus, I arrived a bit late to my date. Not ruined, but not what had been agreed at all.
Ethics and peace of mind are key to me. I consider those guys are not honest. Again, not a really big deal but...I can't trust those people and now wonder if they really do adequate message or just....I touch you, you pay... I felt truly betrayed and abused, which I can't tolerate.
@Owner...Stupid business decision making!!! I was a potential frequent customer. I even had mentioned you I'd probably be back, as my office is next door. I also had in mind to refer colleagues. Well, you converted this opportunity in lost business, bad review, negative promotion. All for 13 extra $... Well done! Sorry guys but no way I come back.
Massage is about enjoying and feel relaxed. Certainly not to be stressed by feeling pushed to spend time and money, or being abused.
My advice...pay in advance, tip after service. Or simply, avoid...
Read moreVisited NYC over the weekend and came back with very tired and aching feet from so much walking. Visited Oriental Massage. Had massage with Tina. 1 hour foot massage $52 or 30 minutes $35 I think. Thirty something. Paid with my card $2 extra. I went at 10:30 am and it was pretty much empty; only one person getting massage. It is a long room that is open so if there are others you can see them, but it is comfortable, dimly lit with relaxing music. I put a towel over my eyes not to see and it was super relaxing. I think I dozed off. Great pressure on feet and legs. It was a very nice massage. At the end they use some hot stones on your feet. Feels good. They are Chinese, the lady in the front speaks good English and the masseuse less English however I used Google translate to communicate better. In reality you don’t really need to speak much because the massage was perfect. When I finished I paid the tip, they didn’t say how much but I paid 20% in cash $11 and they were very professional and friendly with me. Tina was very polite and nice. I love foot massages. They...
Read moreThis place is very peaceful. The energy is very relaxing and quiet. Just what I needed after a very stressful and physically draining week. I got massage therapist Michael. He was amazing. I told him about the pain I was experiencing in one of the muscles on my foot and he relieved it starting at the top of my hip and worked his way down to the muscle. This guy knows what he is doing. He was able to locate and isolate every needle point pinching pain I had. Some of which I wasn’t aware was hurting until he touched. He really gets into the muscle to the point where it hurts- but in the best way possible because I feel so much relief now. If a spot was too much for me he immediately loosened his pressure. He was very attentive and comforting. The front desk lady was very sweet and calm too. I really like this place. I live in Hialeah and had to run errands in the area. But I will definitely make the trip to get a massage here again. Best massage ever. Thank...
