Iāve always enjoyed the food here. But tonight service and food was horrible. Today July 14th night crew need training. I have patience and knowing how the workforce is I have to have patience and I de I deal with customers myself on a daily basis, so I understand how important good service is. I work just around the corner from this location and have been a regular because the food has usually been good. Iāve even been okay with the price $13 plus tax for just two shrimp tacos is steep, but I was willing to pay because the quality used to be there.
Unfortunately, today was a different story. The shrimp tacos felt incomplete bland shrimp with absolutely no flavor, and the tortillas werenāt even grilled. It was a huge letdown. I also noticed a couple nearby who had ordered burritos. They didnāt even finish their meals and ended up walking out, leaving the food on the table. It looked like they werenāt happy either.
What really bothered me was the cook coming out to talk to them, then going back into the kitchen touching plates, bags, and food while still wearing the same gloves. Thatās a health code issue. If I end up getting sick from this, Iām seriously considering taking action.
I spoke with the girl at the front counter, but her attitude was dismissive. Both she and the cook seemed clueless about how to handle the situation. What was really frustrating was watching how friendly and polite they were to another group of customers who happened to be three Spanish speaking women. They got smiles and good service while I got attitude. Thatās not okay, especially how things are going on in this world today.
Iāll definitely be warning my coworkers to stay away from this place. At the rate things are going, I wouldnāt be surprise if this spot doesnāt last much longer or changes its name to escape bad reviews....
Ā Ā Ā Read more5 stars for food. Most of all the food tasted really good. We ordered: chicken nachos, chicken quesadillas, steak burritos and pastor tacos. Minus 1 star for service. There's no takeout section in the restaurant. There's only one person to take your order at the table (eat-in) and to-go orders. When we arrived, there were 5 tables ahead of us and two of them were take out orders which those people sat on a table to place their orders. It took the server 15 minutes to give us our menu to eat-in. There are only a few menus for the entire restaurant. There's only one cook and one other personnel in the back kitchen. Minus another 1 star for everything else. The food comes out separately. After an additional 15 minutes after placing our order, the nachos came out, 15 minutes later, the tacos came out. 10 minutes later the chicken quesadillas came out. Finally another 10 minutes, the steak burrito arrived. After an hour at the restaurant, the entire family finally was able to eat together. There are only plastic forks and knives in to-go packets. Tap water served in carafe with plastic cups. 4 dinner napkins and 3 types of sauces on the table (spicy, mild and tasty). There's no dessert menu, but they do have one sweet: 4 churros with caramel swirl and one scoop of dulce de leche ice cream. Finally, when you ask for the check, the server comes with the card scanner, reads back your order and tells you that if you spent $50 or more, they have a policy that they have to include the tip (18%). She does further inform you that you can leave an additional tip or press skip. No receipt is given unless you request it. Overall, the food was good. The pork al pastor is dry even with the sliver of pineapple place on top. The parking is limited depending on the day and time due to is in a...

First off, food and service are phenomenal. Considering I live and work in the area, I will be coming back. That being said, the way this restaurant runs currently will not survive long in this location, and I hope they make changes sooner than later.
Firstly, management needs to understand the local market a little better. Close to the airport with lots of office workers in Blue Lagoon. Tourists and office workers are the primary demographic here.
For the office workers: Thus far, there is no online takeout option. No pickup from Doordash. Nothing. You have to place your order inside and wait. For office workers in a limited lunch time, this isn't good. There is an abundance of takeout options in the area, and this restaurant is doing minimal to compete. Convenience is key, and in a time crunch, workers will unfortunately choose convenience.
For the tourists: The primarily Spanish menu is appropriate and charming anywhere else in Miamiāhowever, for the tourist who is lodging in one of the nearby hotels, they'd be more compelled to go to Chipotle and any of the more convenient takeout nearby.
For anyone who has time to kill and would like to have high quality Mexican food, I HIGHLY recommend this place. My honest review comes from a place of wanting to see a delicious local Mexican...
