Stayed over the weekend after being bumped from a stay at the nearby Doubletree for reasons that were not disclosed to us. We were given a suite on the seventh level, which seemed fairly nice on first blush, but was fairly average, or perhaps a bit less than that by the end. The bed was probably the least satisfying part of the stay. Exceedingly firm, bordering on hard, the mattress was rather like a thick bar of rubber surrounded by a layer of padding. The pillows, on the other hand, were soft to the point of offering little support, but they were full enough when stacked to be acceptable. The linens were clean and warm. The room had quite a bit of cosmetic damage: worn furniture with not just minor scratches, but significant swatches of missing wooden facade, doors that had gashes in the paint, and walk areas where it appears that fixtures had been moved and took small portions of paint with it. The kitchen was an important part of the suite, and it offered all that we needed. Fridge and freezer, a small cooktop, microwave, sink, coffee maker, and dishwasher. A few basic cooking implements (a pot, microwavable bowl, toaster), and dishes are available. They left a bit of detergent and some tea and coffee. The view was pleasant, but we enjoy watching jets take off, taxi, and land. We spent a fair amount of time just watching the activity at MIA. On the downside, you hear the cargo jets taking off at all hours. The location is pretty good. You can get to most places in Miami in around thirty minutes. Our ride to Olympia Theater downtown was around that long, and that's certainly in the thick of it all; so was our trip to Wynwood and Overtown. The pool is clean, small, and while it was always in use, it was not crowded. Public areas were modern, subdued in color, and fairly spacious. The hallway on the seventh floor was extremely warm, but it's likely because it absorbs the majority of the solar energy. A simple breakfast is available in the morning from 6:30-9a. Right now, everything is boxed and individually wrapped. You get it at the counter. The coffee station had milk, coffee, juice, yogurt, and oatmeal. We received a small bag of mini-waffles and a mini-bagel apiece. Service at the front desk was efficient, informative, and friendly. There is a fitness center, but we did not use it. The wifi was steady and easily accessible. The grounds were pleasant and green. Ducks are all over. Ducklings were present and predictably adorable. There were also a couple of roosters?

We stayed at the Homewood suite at 5500 Waterford district dr. Confirmation number 92207381. I would have to say it was the worst experience my family and I. From the start to end of our short stay and makes me feel like I might start looking into a different hotel chain. The manage is short and rude. Our room was not ready until after 5 and we had arrived at 8:30 that morning. The lobby was and bathrooms were clean. The room had huge issues. The vents and door jams was extremely dirty. Room smelt like someone smoked in it. The door is misaligned and someone could unlock it there was so much gap. The bathroom ceiling had been falling apart and was dropping debris. One of the lights in the bedroom was out and the couch and living room floor looked like blood on them. We chose not to eat breakfast here. Couldn’t trust the quality. When we checked out and explained to the manager he didn’t care or apologize for the horrible stay we had. Then we caught an Irene to the airport do the shuttle van was full and didn’t come back in time. The pictures on line wasn’t even close to the room we revived. I normally check all reviews but I didn’t this time do to it was a homewood suite and no a motel 6 I’m disappointed in the hotel and service we received.

I had two kids with us that waited 1 1/2 hours for our shuttle from the hotel. We were hung up on multiple times when trying to contact the hotel. If we had known the time frame for the shuttle we could have made different arrangements to get to the hotel but instead they just hung up on us and communication was horrible. We were told multiple times the shuttle should almost be there. We had only eaten snacks since breakfast due to flights and it was very difficult with our kids to wait so long not knowing if we were going to miss the shuttle. This experience was very dissapointing from a Hilton hotel which we have had good luck with. The upside was that the room was nice. We had a nice view of the blue lagoon and saw multiple birds out the windows. They were quick to bring a pack n play for kid and and had a kitchen for meal prep. The two rooms provided a nice nights sleep with the kids. They also had a good breakfast with many options in the morning. They do not take reservations for the shuttle back to the airport so make sure you are there early. I would not visit this hotel again due to this experience.

I wanted to share my horrific experience while staying at his hotel. First off, I am a nurse who have been on the road since April 2020 traveling to help with Covid. I have spent most of my lodging with Hilton properties. As a Diamond member spending 70 nights with this company so far this year, I am disgusted. I arrived to Miami, FL after finishing up in Jacksonville, FL on an assignment. I had a surgery in Miami on 7/22/2020. The hotel was not suitable for even an stray animal on the street. The cleanliness of the hotel was was nonexistent. I was moved 4 times during my stay at this property. All of the rooms in which smelled like dirty wet carpet. Next, in one room, dried up blood was left running down the wall, curtains were stained, refrigerator dirty with gunk and debris in and underneath the refrigerator with a orangeish/brownish color left on the floor. To make matters worst, a female bra was left was left behind in the room with gives me the impression the room was not properly sanitized prior to myself checking in. When i called and complained, i was told "we can move you when a room become available." Hours went by and still no call back. I called back and a woman was rude and said the manager had left for the day and chuckled and hung up. I reached out to Hilton customer service and about a hour later my room was changed. The next room on the second floor, was dirtier and even more disgusting. This time, there was blood on a couch, blood on a dining room chair, stained carpet, and USED hygiene washcloths hanging up. As, I was i severe pain, I had to walk all the way down to front desk to verbalize how disappointed I was and concerned for my guest and I health. I also got the number to the General Manager, whom i believe name is Marco or something to that nature. I left a voicemail, he never called back. Once i sent pictures he called back and stated he was sorry. He stated he would compensate some of my stay but never did, and also said they were hiring for new housekeepers. The manager was not sincere with his apology, did not take responsibility for the poor customer service or the horrible conditions of the property. Low and behold I was charge full price for the stay, he never reached though I have a text saying he would look into it an did not. As nurse, I mentioned several times I was concerned of the conditions of the rooms and was a great risk for infection due to my fresh surgery. I also voiced my concerns about covid and sanitation. Also, as a Diamond Hilton Honors member how disappointment I was. My stay was left on deaf ears, I have pictures as proof and text messages. Giving me a few Hilton rewards points does not cover up what I experience. I will be calling the state of Florida...

Old Hotel! Please read before you book! Room was not cleaned properly upon arrival. Hair in bathroom. Kitchen counter tops not wiped down. Coffee maker had coffee grounds all over it. Bathroom tub had ants in it. The ?Manger?(Cleaning management)said all these buildings have an ant problem since they are next to the water. Had them re-clean bathroom. Still left hair and didn't clean countertops or coffee maker.. I was just over it and politely sent her on her way. Saw the certification for elevators expired on 7/31/2019. When I asked about this they said everything was up to date but they don't have 2019-2020 or 2020-2021 or 2021-2022 to show to me. They told me to call the city. Which I did. The city did indeed confirm that Yes, they are up to date and should be receiving up to date paperwork to place in elevators within the next few weeks. But just be warned about elevators. Screws are missing in certain areas and it's a shaky ride. You can barely see the button light you pushed for your floor and there is no hand Sanitizer in or on any floor to use. For the 100+ dollars a night. There is barely a breakfast. Bag oatmeal, cereal, fruit cups, yogurt, milk and juice are your picks. I've been to a few other Hilton locations in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale area due to my fiancee travels for work. By far this is the worst hotel I've been to down here. Only thing it has going for it is the mediocre view only good if on 5th floor and up and the fishing. Great fishing and they let you fish from the terrace outside. This place is no smoking on premises yet there is no area for smokers that I saw (but didn't really look). So the smokers stand or sit by the entrances and you get to walk right into smoke if leaving or returning. Sometimes you can smell it in the hallways because someone wants the A/C blowing on them while they block the door because they are smoking. I have no clue how they have a 4.1 rating. Also seeing how the hotel responds to these reviews is infuriating.

Will not be coming back.

Edit: the Manager called to let me know that they received the proper elevator paperwork, showed it to me and is looking for the special tool to open the case. It's the next day and they still haven't...
