Not going to lie, this hotel has some issues, but overall staff is great. It seems as if every room has a light switch by the front door that does nothing. Next you encounter more switches that don’t work. Some rooms you can figure it out on your own where the lamp needs to be turned on to then work by the switch (like when a place is wired for one side of the outlet to be controlled by the switch). This should have been setup properly for each guest in the first place. As a frequent traveler with top status at 3 different hotels I can’t say I’ve ever encountered a location anywhere in the world where I couldn’t turn on the lights with the switch on the wall. No big deal, would never even mention it if that were it. Unfortunately when I was about to head out I realized the safe didn’t work. It’s around midnight and Alejandro at the front desk is probably the perfect staff member one could ask for on their team. I could have simply been told a maintenance person would fix the safe tomorrow or “sometime soon” where I’d have been sitting around waiting.. but there was no issue asking to switch rooms as a safe is important to me. I noticed online that 2 bedroom suites were available for all 3 nights I’m booked here. I asked if it were possible to upgrade since with Covid there’s a lack of house keeping so it would definitely be helpful. No issue at all! What I wish, however, is that this could have been offered at checkin. I don’t feel entitled to an upgrade and never requested one, but I’m a Globalist, my birthday is a month away, and I paid cash for the one bedroom suite for my entire stay so you’d think if the next level were available it would have been offered at checkin. Maybe not since that’s more house keeping work, but upgrades like that are what keep Globalists loyal to Hyatt. (Hyatt is my #1. Hilton/Marriott status is mostly by credit card / promotion based and only chosen when a Hyatt isn’t in town). Anyways, the next room had a burnt / fire damaged outlet and the safe was locked! No worries, Alejandro was professional again and issued new keys probably within 60 seconds. This next room has a neighbor who stuffed towels under their door, but thankfully there’s no in between room door so smoke isn’t sweeping into my room. Sadly there was water/bread/butter and a mostly drunk bottle of orange juice left in my refrigerator which is pretty disgusting since that guarantees the refrigerator was never cleaned in Covid times.. but thankfully I’m young and vaccinated so hopefully will be fine. The safe works here and being a Hyatt House I have groceries I’m sick of moving! Just knowing that Alejandro WOULD help fix the issue without a problem makes this a 4 star experience opposed to a 1 star where I’m trying to figure out how to transfer to another location. Overall the hotel and location is decent, just don’t expect a...
Read moreWe had a good stay at the Hyatt House Miami Airport. As the name indicates, it is located quite close to the airport if you are on a layover or want to stay close by for your return flight. The room we got was a spacious Accessible room. It appeared clean and had a spacious kitchenette and living room area with a sofa bed. The kitchenette had an electric stove, dish washer, mini fridge, toaster, coffee maker and microwave oven. I liked that there were separate areas for the bedroom and living room, both with TVs in case you take family or kids. The sofa bed was also a plus. They have coin operated washers and dryers and a mini store for snacks, water and other small items. The included breakfast was OK and pretty standard (eggs, sausage, breads, cereals, coffee, juices, etc.). As for things that could have been better: They did not provide or offer a shuttle to/from the airport. Reason given was Covid, but surely they could provide the service in a safe manner like many other hotels already do. Also, other lacking services that were blamed on Covid were: No house keeping. During our 5 day stay no one came to clean our room, restock TP, towels, etc. No room service. If you wanted something sent to your room (food, towels, sheets, etc.) you had to go down and pick them up yourself. All staff were friendly and even accommodated us for a 1 hour late check-out. We did not get to use the swimming pool. And finally there is a shopping plaza about 500 yards away what you can walk to. There is a Publix Supermarket, Pharmacy and a few restaurants to eat at. Overall, it was a good stay, but they certainly have lots of room for...
Read moreThe Hyatt House Miami Airport hotel was very nice. Seems you get a lot of room space for the money. I was in Miami visiting one of my uncles in the hospital, and the family (my cousins) was using this hotel as home base. Location to the airport was great, maybe 7 minutes. Location to the hospital was great, less than probably 15 minutes. I ended up with more room space than I had expected. I'm used to a room with a bed, a bathroom, and some storage space like a closet or alcove for hanging things. This hotel gave me a queen sized bed, two TVs, a corner couch unit, a dressing area and sink with a separate toilet and shower room, and a kitchenette with stove/oven, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, sink, dishes and silverware, coffeemaker, and the list goes on. WAY more than I expected, and WAY more than I used. The room itself seemed clean and was comfortably cool all night. Water pressure was good. Everything in the room was pretty nice, and way more than I needed or expected. The hallway near my room, and other areas and floors, all seemed to be in need of some cleaning. Small debris made it look dirty in some areas. Granted, I checked in around 6 pm, and checked out at about 6 am, so maybe my timing was off for the cleaning. Compliment breakfast was delicious, and there was plenty from which to choose. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is a place where I would definitely consider staying again if I find myself...
