The Venetian Causeway Park is a passive park that makes use of land that was created from materials that came from the dredging of Biscayne Bay. The man made Venetian Islands were also created from this material.
The park has a few parking spots along the street. The park is linear and runs along the Venetian Causeway on Biscayne Island. Opened in 1925, the Venetian Causeway takes travelers over the Biscayne Bay between the Miami Beach, barrier island and mainland Miami. The park has a paved pathway, a few benches, and shade trees. Local runners were passing through on a regular basis.
The main reason to stop here is for the beautiful view of the Biscayne Bay with boats of all kinds. I could see Watson Island and Jungle Island which had a giant inflatable pumpkin set up for their current Horrorland Miami event. In the distance I could see the MacArthur Causeway. It was nice to stop a few minutes to take in the view. Note that there is a $3 toll fee from the mainland to Biscayne Island, the western most...
Read moreVenetian Causeway Park in Miami holds a special place in my heart. One breezy Sunday afternoon, I decided to take a break from the city's hustle and cycle down the Venetian Causeway. The moment I reached the park, the view of the sparkling Biscayne Bay took my breath away.
I found a quiet spot under a sprawling banyan tree and settled down with a book. The gentle lapping of the water and the distant hum of boats created a serene backdrop. The park wasn't crowded, just a few locals jogging or walking their dogs, which added to the peaceful atmosphere.
As the sun began to set, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange, I strolled along the waterfront path. The historic bridges of the causeway, illuminated by the golden light, created a picturesque scene straight out of a postcard. I ended my visit with a sense of tranquility, grateful for this little oasis in the midst of Miami's vibrant energy. Venetian Causeway Park isn't just a spot on the map; it's a retreat...
Read moreConnecting Miami to South Beach it's a road traveling through a series of man-made islands. It's a great place for a run and there are cute little parks on either end of the causeway. There are also two drawbridges which also are on both ends. Opening to let boats pass, takes maybe 5 minutes wait if you get caught.
Lizards and birds and cute nature, this is one of my favorite runs to take around here - the air is pure, the view spectacular, the ground is level. There's also a bike path. For starts basically a toll road, there's a lot of great stuff...
