On a recent visit to Miami, I decided to spend a sunny afternoon at Margaret Pace Park, and it turned out to be one of the most serene and enjoyable experiences of my trip. Nestled along Biscayne Bay, this urban oasis offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and recreational amenities, making it a must-visit spot for both locals and tourists.

As soon as I arrived, I was struck by the park’s lush greenery and well-maintained landscape. The sight of palm trees swaying gently in the breeze against the backdrop of the sparkling bay was truly captivating. I found the park to be a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, offering a peaceful retreat where I could unwind and soak in the beauty of Miami’s waterfront.

I started my visit with a leisurely stroll along the scenic walking path that winds its way through the park. The path offered stunning views of Biscayne Bay, with the city skyline in the distance, creating a perfect setting for relaxation. Along the way, I encountered several friendly locals walking their dogs, jogging, and enjoying the sunny weather. The atmosphere was vibrant yet tranquil, making it easy to strike up a conversation or simply enjoy the solitude.

One of the highlights of Margaret Pace Park is its excellent recreational facilities. I spent some time at the basketball courts, where a group of enthusiastic players invited me to join their game. The courts were in great condition, and it was a lot of fun to engage in a friendly match while enjoying the ocean breeze. The park also has tennis courts, a volleyball court, and a well-equipped fitness area, catering to a wide range of interests and activities.

For those who prefer a more relaxed experience, the park offers plenty of shaded picnic areas and comfortable benches where you can sit and enjoy the view. I brought along a picnic lunch and found a cozy spot under a palm tree. As I enjoyed my meal, I watched boats sail by on the bay and listened to the soothing sounds of the water lapping against the shore.

The park’s location is also convenient, with several nearby cafes and shops. After my visit, I walked to a nearby coffee shop for a refreshing iced latte, reflecting on the wonderful time I had spent at the park.

Overall, my experience at Margaret Pace Park was exceptional. The combination of beautiful scenery, excellent facilities, and a friendly community made it a standout destination in Miami. Whether you’re looking to stay active, enjoy a peaceful picnic, or simply take in the stunning views, Margaret Pace Park has something for everyone. It’s a true gem in the heart...

5 Stars Margaret Pace Park is one of Miami’s hidden gems, offering a perfect blend of relaxation, recreation, and stunning views. Nestled along Biscayne Bay, this waterfront park is ideal for locals and visitors alike who want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life while still being close to downtown.

The first thing that catches your eye is the breathtaking scenery. The park provides panoramic views of the bay, with sailboats drifting by and a clear sightline of Miami Beach in the distance. Whether you’re visiting at sunrise or sunset, the skies here are simply magical. It’s an incredible spot for photographers or anyone looking to unwind in nature.

Margaret Pace Park is a haven for fitness enthusiasts. There’s something for everyone – jogging and walking paths shaded by palm trees, outdoor workout stations, and plenty of open space for yoga, stretching, or bootcamp-style workouts. The park also has basketball courts, tennis courts, and sand volleyball courts that are always lively, especially in the evenings. On weekends, you’ll often find people playing friendly games while spectators cheer them on.

For dog owners, this park is a dream come true. The dedicated dog park is well-maintained, spacious, and separated for small and large dogs. It’s always filled with friendly pets and their owners, making it a social space for humans and furry friends alike. If you’re looking to let your pup run off some energy while you enjoy the scenery, this is the place to be.

One of the most appealing aspects of Margaret Pace Park is how clean and well-maintained it is. The grounds are pristine, and the grassy areas are perfect for picnics, sunbathing, or just lounging with a good book. There are plenty of benches throughout the park, as well as shaded spots to take a break from the sun. The park also has a modern playground area, making it a family-friendly destination where kids can play safely.

Parking can be a little challenging since the area is quite popular, especially on weekends, but there are metered spots along the perimeter of the park and nearby residential streets.

Whether you’re looking to exercise, walk your dog, play a sport, or simply enjoy the Miami sunshine, Margaret Pace Park offers it all. It’s the kind of place that reminds you how beautiful and vibrant Miami can be. This park has become a part of my weekly routine, and I always look forward to spending time here.

Margaret Pace was the founder and President of the Miami Garden Club. She was also the chairman of Royal State Park which later became part of Everglades National Park. As a former Vice President of the Miami Woman's Club, she fought development of the adjoining green space which then became the 8 acre park. Margaret Pace Park was created in the late 1960's and named in her honor. In 2003 the park received a 4 million dollar makeover.

Margaret Pace Park is located at the south end of Edgewater. On the east side of the park is Biscayne Bay and on the west side is towering condos. Park amenities include basketball and tennis court, shaded playground, outdoor exercise equipment, sand volleyball court, paved walkway, public art, paddleboard and kayak rentals, and a dog park. Pay parking by app is available on the street.

On August 10, 2023 the city of Miami unveiled their master plan to renovate Margaret Pace Park. To combat the heat misting areas, splash pads and tree coverage are planned for the park. Other components of the plan include improvements to the shoreline, an upgraded playground, additional beach volleyball courts, a two story community center, pickleball court, and a sandy area for recreational activities. Construction is projected to proceed over three phases beginning next year. You can see the plan on line and there is one hanging on the playground fence.

The view of the bay is gorgeous and the mosaic throne chairs are a unique discovery. Each twenty-foot high, two-ton throne visually conveys the stories of the three largest ethnic communities of elders who had settled in Miami. The paved walkway is perfect for exercising and walking your dog. It is truly amazing that this green spaced was able to be preserved from development. Just look around at the buildings dwarfing the park and you can see how ripe this spot was for development. Margaret Pace did the Miami community such a great service by saving this recreational space and it is about to get...
