Overall good experience here. It was my first time ever in a Plato's and even though I was not super impressed, I was happy to sell a decent amount of my clothes for quick cash. The staff is friendly which is always a plus.
They do NOT take men's belts FYI. At first I was surprised by how quick the associate went through my two bags of clothes however it appeared she did not really look closely at everything, at least in my eyes. I had multiple nice Calvin Klein button down shirts I wore maybe once or twice, all of which were given back to me. They mention how excited they are for men's clothing and that they're almost always "in need" of it. This does NOT seem to be the case.
I asked if they take AllSaints and Diesel jeans which I had in the car (both of which are pricey designer denim) and she said yes. Unfortunately, the system they have in evaluating clothes is quite poor and inaccurate. It's all computer based and not real in-house hands-on knowledge of brands and their real value. $7.60 for each pair of jeans? Worn a handful of times that retails for $150+ each? I obviously took back all of my higher end denim, as that is a joke. Will be taking anything of higher value to Buffalo Exchange or elsewhere. Clearly real designer is not their thing. No biggie!
So, what good came out of my experience you ask? The friendliness of course, and what they did take from me was generally fair for their profit and mine. I ended up saying goodbye to graphic t-shirts, two sneakers, one pair of jeans, and a few more hoodies/shirts. I took the cash option as you can opt for store credit with no less dollar amount, and was given $57 and change for 20 items.
Most likely I will be back, but to sell styles that I know you can find in the average mall for a lower price point brand new. Ex. American Eagle, Hollister, Areopostale, etc is all worth selling here for quick cash as opposed to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI brought a humongous bag to Platoās closet. First thing there is construction , that makes it so hard to drop and pick up clothes. I had to have my boyfriend drop off the bag it was so heavy and there was over 50+ items. The girl with the brown curly ish hair and glasses āhelpedā us out and she asked if we have sold here before and I responded yes, and then I asked about how long would it take ( thinking it would be a while because it was such a big bag) apparently to the worker we āranā out the door because she forgot to inform me that she could not look at the clothes if I donāt sign in. So I come back 30 minutes later and she says she was not able to look through the bag. So I wasted 30 minutes of which they couldnāt have simply opened the bag and looked and went back to my car expecting to wait 30 minutes. Less than 5 minutes later I get a message that the clothes are done. Idk how they stay in business, they took 4 items for $14.12. I know for a fact that the girl who was so undoubtedly rude did not look through my whole bag. I will never be coming back here and do not sell your clothes it is a waste of time to carry heavy stuff through the construction site to rude 18 year olds who do not have a sense of fashion. Starting to think they are not size inclusive due to the fact that most of my items were size large. And 95% of the store is size small.
DONāT WASTE UR TIME GIVE UR CLOTHES TO A DONATION CENTER FOR KIDS AND PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY NEED IT AND NOT THIS HORRIBLE STORE.
And I better not see one of those copy and paste responses that this business gives to everyone.
disconnect was that I was told that the bag had not been looked through. If I wasnāt told that then it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell let me start off by saying that the staff is incredibly sweet and helpful. I recently went with both my mom & grandma a few days ago and man, did we shop! First, the store is super neat and they has everything coordinated great, as well as having a good selection over all. Itās a good environment to just shop and talk with your family, which I do constantly because I never stop talking haha.
The items are mostly in good condition and some even with tags on them (score! Thank you Zaraās) and trying them on was no hassle. There were a good amount of customers but not stuffy at all and it was great. Looking through the isles, I was surprised on how many pairs of shoes they had for men, where I went to another Platoās and they didnāt really care for guyās shoes. Here, it was great & I bought a pair. Another thing I like that I didnāt do that day was when you bring in a buy, you sometimes get a coupon which is super smart, because it makes me buy things while I wait.
Iāve been to many Platoās closets throughout the state and this one is definitely my favorite. Really quick circling back to my first point, the employees. There was is girl, unfortunately I donāt remember her name but had an excellent customer service attitude. My mom and I even told her, because we feel she did a great job. Coming from a background in business, Iāve seen the best and the worst and this girl had the best. Sometimes we would want something and then didnāt, she was more than happy to help. Overall, such a great store and great place to just spend a few. Ps. Layla, the owner, the sweetest. Okay, I promise...
