Sad to be making my first negative review about a company. After selling to Uptown Cheapskate I noticed that I was not given back all of my belongings. I called and let them know and then had to drive back for the third time to collect my belongings. When picking up what they "forgot" to give back I noticed that they consolidated all of my name brand clothing into the one bag they "forgot" to give me. Which I thought was strange and suspicious. When I addressed this concern I was not addressed by one person but 4 employees at the same time. There seemed to be no chain of command. I was not met with an apology for THEM "forgetting" my stuff but with "that's your own responsibility". I would think as an employee it is their responsibility to ensure that they run good and fair operations by giving back their customers what is rightfully there's. I would not trust this store to give you back everything that is yours. So count all of your items you are wanting to sell to ensure you get back what they do not buy. Otherwise they are "donations" as I was told by their assistant manager. Very fishy and what seemed to be...
Read moreUPDATE: I went in yesterday and saw a jacket, black northface, looked like one I had taken in that they refused to buy. A yellow northface rain jacket just like mine. Along with others. They robbed me! Do not sell here. They lie, cheat, and steal. Clothes are nice but don't EVER sell to them. I took a 30gal tote and two big black trash bags in to sell. Some of these clothes probably weren't what they needed or wanted but I had alot of northface, nike, Adidas along with other brands. Everything was no more than 2yrs old. Some as new as a month ago with tags still attached. Everything name brand came from kohls, dicks, and academy. And I throughly checked every item and removed anything that had holes or damaged etc. They called me an hr after i dropped off and told me that they didn't want to buy anything and that I could come pick up before eight p m. It was seven fifty when they called me. I just have time to make it back. Up there before they closed, and so the next morning first thing as soon as I opened, I called and they had...
Read moreTook two large bags of all nice, gently worn clothes to Uptown Cheapskate. I’ve been in before and they keep the store very clean and organized. They have nicer brands but also brands like Target and Shein. When cleaning out my closet, I only picked things I thought they would want added to their store; American Eagle, Express, Giani Bini, Z-supply, Piko, etc. I signed the agreement to have whatever they didn’t take donated. About two hours later, they call to tell me they are not taking anything at all and they have already added all my things to their donate bin. I don’t mind donating some of my things, but I was flabbergasted that they told me they took nothing but also donated EVERYTHING! Leaving me with absolutely nothing - especially when I have seen first hand the type of inventory they have in their store. I will not be using Uptown Cheapskate again. I’m tempted to go back by and see if they have any of my clothes that were “donated” out on the floor with...
