Horrible, horrible place! Upon entering this establishment I was actually impressed, it smelled clean, looked clean and looked modern. I have never stayed at La Quinta Inn before and would never have given it a chance if not for my wife's good review from one she stayed in; in Kansas. We reserved a room online weeks before so when we got there we just showed ID and paid the 220 for 2 nights, we get to the room and sit on the bed, immediately we both said "jeez, this thing is hard as a rock". I figured we could just endure so we decided to leave it alone. My wife checks the Bank of America app and noticed they took out 440$ not 220 like they said they would. I immediately go to the front counter and ask about the double transaction. They just told me, since i reserved with a different debit card than what i paid with that both cards connected to the same account was charged, they told me it would take up to 14 days to return it. That instantly put me in a less than becoming mood since this was supposed to be a special weekend for my wife and I and now we're down 220 more dollars than we planned. I go back to the hotel and decide i want to watch my Amazon Fire because we hate cable, their television remote control was laggy and annoying but not a main issue (just thought I'd mention it). We connect to the hotel WiFi and it's only getting 0.45 mbps so... yeah no Fire TV shows, only YouTube for us i guess. Next we decide to go swimming in the hotel pool, no one was in it so we were happy we had it all to ourselves, we get in and the pool was warm thankfully (it was 40 degrees out), we start swimming and my wife noticed the water was salt water, some people think that's nice to have but if you've spent time at beaches then you won't be impressed (I'd rather have regular clean water), my wife looks at her arms and legs and noticed they're breaking out badly, red splotches everywhere including the face and neck, their was too much chlorine in the pool and we had just realized it. We get out because it was burning my wife. As we sit there drip-drying on the aluminum chairs i look down and notice my black shirt is now brown, it bleached my shirt, i was impressed because I've never seen something like that happen in a pool. We went to bed and woke up the next day in pain from the rock hard bed, i was miserable all day, literally every joint in my body hurt. Everywhere all day my wife kept asking me what was wrong because i was in such a horrible mood. We didn't get in the pool again (obviously) but the WiFi never got better and extra pillows did nothing for that bed, it was so hard that even laying on it watching videos have me a headache. Before going to bed the last night i asked my wife if she wanted to just go home early and since we had something planned in Mid West City she didn't want to drive all the way back to Guthrie then come back in the morning (i totally didn't care at that point and was done with the whole experience), The last night we slept on the demon bed and i woke up probably 15 times in horrible pain, around the 5th time i woke i seriously contemplated sleeping in the chair or the floor but decided not to incorrectly. I woke the next day and unsurprisingly was in pain again, it took me 15 minutes to loosen up enough to move freely but was still in pain. We packed up and headed out the door, we asked the manager if he could somehow check to see if our money was going to come back for sure and he just said something about it pending without checking anything. He then said "that's why you shouldn't be using a 3rd party site like Expedia". I'm pretty sure Expedia doesn't steal these reservations and just posts them without permission right? You can't blame Expedia if you don't know how to use the program correctly. We will never ever be back, I told my wife to never book at La Quinta Inn again and told several people today to stay away. The one redeeming quality though was the excellent breakfast cooked by the nice lady, i don't know her name but she...

The good - Location was easy to get to and get out of, that was a plus.
A/C was great. Cooled down quickly and was quiet.
Good water pressure. Lots of lighting and it did have two USB ports in the clock (unlike our last La Quinta stay that had them all over the room).
Breakfast area was clean and food was good, hot and lots of muffin options. No complaints.
THE BAD - The first impression when we in to check out is three people smoking right infront of the main door. WHY NOT MOVE THE SMOKING AREA so others don't have to walk through smoke. And this was like this every time we walked in coming back to the hotel.
When walked in to check in there was a young child screaming his / her lungs out for a good five minutes. Then 4-5 kids under the age of six running through the hotel, up and down the hallway from the pool to the lobby. I understand that is not the hotel or employee's responsibility but wow, that's a stiff slap in the censors when you walk in.
The young man behind the counter acted "lost" at first, maybe he was tired or just woke up but he seemed dazed if that makes any sense.
One of our keys didn't work.
ANTS - There were ants all in our room. First saw a few on the bed and in the bathroom the first night we were there and didn't really think much of it. Until the next day when we got into our leftover pizza, it was filled with ants. Ants all over the cabinets. So, what we'd planned on being our lunch the next day was ruined.
The fridge, was situated in the cabinet where we couldn't get the door open wide enough to fit our pizza boxes in there. But it didn't matter because it wasn't working / turned on. Why I don't know.
One of the two beds were very uncomfortable. It seemed like it was broken down and had a dip in it. Didn't sleep well. I think it's time for new beds.
The bathroom walls were dirty and you can tell that whomever cleans it doesn't pay much attention to detail. The shower curtian was dirty too.
The partition wall was dirty like you could see what looked like footprints on it.
I'd say whomever is in charge of the cleaning department needs to be shown what clean is.
Overall I doubt we will book this one when we come back up in June and October.
Just to much negative to outweigh the positive. Do...
Read moreThis is probably one of the overall nicer properties I have stayed at. From the moment I arrived and saw a welcome message (to me!!) on the marquee, I felt very valued on my one night here. The room absolutely met expectations and suited the needs of our trip, the beds were clean, made and there was not a hint of bed bug (I make it a habit to check as all people should). The AC in the room worked phenomenally and kept our room cold all night. Also shout out to the wonderful woman who checked us in, since they had the availability to make the accommodation they ensured that there was nobody in the room below us, and with a rambunctious ADHD 5-year-old I definitely worry about him bothering people below us when we stay at hotels because he runs everywhere he goes.
The breakfast has the traditional offerings of most Wyndham La Quinta properties I stay at but I was thrilled to see that they offer strawberry waffle batter at this location, that blew my mind for breakfast (and they were delicious!) The pool was clean, looked well maintained, and the water was actually cool! (most hotels I've stayed at that have an indoor pool, the water tends to be on the warmer side). Every staff member we have come into contact with since check-in has been absolutely polite, friendly, welcoming and just overall amazing. The next time we are back out this way I am definitely going to choose this hotel again.
My only super minor complaint is that the outlets behind the bedside table (Room 324) seem to have a short or it might be loose as the lamp on that table kept...
