Checkin was OK. Was recognized as a Premium member at Marriott and assigned a room on the 5th floor. I was told it was an upgrade.||This hotel seems to still be making up its mind on whether it is a Sheraton or a Delta Hotel. I stayed at the same property a month and a half ago and it was the same situation then. The sign on the building is covered up (on purpose), supposedly, awaiting clearance to be called a Delta hotel. But if it was a Sheraton one would think that things would be more to the premium side, but wait there is more on that. With the no end in sight construction on I-40 nearby, this hotel is horrendous to get to.||My room was towards the back of the hotel and a considerable walk from the elevator. The tiled bathroom floor had marks and dirt on it. The carpet and floor was unclean with visible dirt in many parts. The window sill was dirty. Now how in the hell does a window sill get dirty? The bed looked clean and it was late and I too tired to make an issue of this and decided to settle in. I was told that I should run the water for 10 minutes or more before I shower as there is construction going on nearby that could affect the water quality. I did this in the morning before taking a shower. The water got lukewarm at best. I complained at reception and they offered to move me to another room that is 'closer to the boiler' so the hot water situation should improve. I did that in the evening and yes, the water was warmer at the next room.||Last time I was in the property, they had breakfast laid out and it was self serve. All that has gone away and this time even to get a coffee, one has to order it. There is no coffee in the lobby and they now charge $2 for coffee. One giant leap backwards. Practically on every day, when I got to the breakfast area there was not a soul in sight. I had to wait around before someone noticed that there is a guest waiting to have breakfast and comes over to take your order.||There is a Pantry on the 5th floor for Premium guests (equivalent of an executive lounge) that was not open 1.5 months ago and still isnt.||Somebody had spilled some syrup on the floor in the elevator and it would stick to your shoes when you step in. 3 days past no one has bothered to clean this up. Overall, a much left to be desired property that will find it hard to compete with major name brands...
Read moreCheck in was good, was recognized as a Titanium member.||Room is well appointed. Bathroom is well equipped, everything works and good set of amenities.||I was provided access to the Pantry on the 5th floor.||Location is great and just off I-40. Plenty of covered parking and in 110F days in August, this was a welcome relief.||It goes downhill from here, just a heads up.|| I stayed 5 nights. Went to the Fitness room on the 2nd day I was there. There are 3 TV's right next to each other (see picture) that were all ON and audio of 3 different programs simultaneously. I looked and looked for a remote, but could not find one. I have my own Podcasts or Music that I listen to while I work out so it was a nuisance to have 3 TV's that I could not turn down or OFF while I was there. There is a water dispenser in the Gym, but no cups. I went to the front desk after my workout and informed the front desk of these things. They tell me that the TV remote is kept at the front desk and not in the Fitness room. Absurd and bizarre. But they assured me they will 'take care of it'. 4 days later, the 3 TV's were still ON and there were NO CUPS in the gyms to have a drink of water!!!|| First day I was at the Pantry everything was well stocked and working. Next morning the Coffee machine had a 'Needs service' message on it. I call down to the Front desk at around 7:00 am, they tell me the lady that makes the coffee just woke up and will head to the hotel soon! I am not making this up. The next day the machine was working but there were no cups for coffee. The next day the 'Needs service' message came back on it. Day 1 and 2, there were cups of Chobani yogurt available in the pantry. These disappeared and never returned for the rest of my stay.|| The hotel was about 30% occupied (going by the number of cars in the Parking lot) when I was there. Given that it is attached to a 'Conference center' it can be much fuller in occupancy. They could not keep up with service with 30% occupancy. This place will be a disaster if it was in full occupancy. Overall, if you are expecting Marriott level of service, you will be greatly disappointed. They do as little as possible...
